I went back to the Reddit post and the person edited to state they may have misinterpreted what the CS rep said. I agree it would be a lot to give away. In my mind I was hoping it was a gesture of kindness for gen1/early adopters. I guess we'll see.
Someone on the Rivian subreddit said they were told by customer service that Dual Max owners would be getting the upgrade for free. If that's true I'm hoping Dual Large owners get the upgrade at a discount at least.
Presumably they used a NACS to j1772 adaptor to try to use a Tesla supercharger. The j1772 port does not have any high voltage DC pins so basically they tried to pass high voltage DC through AC only connectors. They're lucky they didn't spark anything or start a fire.
We also have an XC90 T8 along with our R1. If you're using the EVSE that came with the Volvo then you're limited to 16 amp charging which is the maximum the Volvo can take (around 3.8 kW) regardless of the circuit size. It'll work just fine for the Rivian just a pretty slow (probably under 10...
I'm on an EV rate plan in the SF Bay Area on PG&E with 3rd party generation by San Jose Clean Energy. Doing some math on my latest bill it seems my off-peak rate when including generation, distribution, and fees comes to $0.34/kWh. But I generally charge my R1T at work where I get charged...
Have you checked your bank account to see if the check was cashed? I mailed my application in late November and the check was cashed late last week. I was starting to think it was lost and was debating canceling the check.
Have an R1T that I don't plan on replacing. I will likely put a deposit for an R2 just cause (mostly because I'm a shareholder). My wife's car is a PHEV and I'm not sure we're ready to replace it and go full electric but who knows, maybe things change by the time R2 is released.
My take is someone took these pics (shared on Twitter):
(btw, note the buildings across the street match the current Google Street View for Pico Blvd)
They for some reason though the white SUV might be an R2 so they had AI rotate the image and ended up with this (found on Reddit):
That...
I got the update notification yesterday evening and hit start right away. I had a minor issue in that the update sat at 0% for about 30 minutes so I started fearing the worst. Eventually it did start updating. In all it took about an hour and half to complete. Maybe it had something to do with...
I'm at 8.5k miles and the fronts are wearing pretty noticeably compared to the rears. I keep putting off rotating but I really should do it ASAP. My driving is maybe 70/30 highway/city and a tend to drive fairly aggressively. I could see myself having to replace them around 20k or so miles.
This happens to me sometimes when I unlock using the buttons on the fob, leave the fob in the house, then try to use paak to drive. It asks for the key card but that won't even work so I have to run inside and get the fob.
I'm wondering if it expects to detect the fob in truck and that's only...
Bought this used from a fellow forum member. My primary use is to charge my wife's PHEV that doesn't do scheduled charging. Unfortunately the Rivian wall charger scheduling is controlled via the truck, not the charger, so I had to replace it. I only used this for about a week and from my...
I've had my dual motor/large since the end of September and I'm coming up on 7k miles. I've had no significant issues and I'm yet to need to schedule any service. Probably the biggest issue so far is a tailgate latch/sensor that twice has been non functional and says that the tailgate is open...
I also went with a @Bf3 design but made it myself due to timing. In all it was about $750 in materials, a $24 saw blade, and about 4 hours* of my time. For me the hardest part was putting the weatherstripping on the tounge closest to the tailgate. It was a pain to slide on and get the edge to be...
California also has this on certain freeways. You need an RFID tag called a FastTrak and can use that in some HOV lanes (not all of them have FastTrak sensors). My understanding is the stickers let an individual into any HOV lane, including those on smaller highways, on ramps, etc.
