Mine sat for over a month before it was worked on. Not sure what Rivian's or the bodyshop's thinking is for this behavior, but I was guaranteed it was necessity. After that first month, I could see the car was moved in and out of the facility for another week or so after. I received word that...
I rejected the first MYP Tesla tried to deliver me. Looked like it had been out in a hail storm, not to mention the gaps were unacceptable, and missing the rear spoiler altogether.
For the Rivian, I really struggled with fixing it initially, but glad I went that route. It would be another...
Just have them repair it. My service center knew PDR wasn't possible and said it wasn't an option. Originally we had ordered a whole new door and had it shipped to the repair facility. Once my car was brought in, the body shop said they could spot fix much easier than replacing the whole door...
I installed the Rivian cross bars last weekend. Even at low speeds, the whistle is very prevalent. Taking them off until needed.
Rather disappointed with the noise. I expected some, but this is ridiculously loud.
I caught mine prior to delivery acceptance, but in the shade of late day during delivery check, it didn't look like it does in full sunlight. In full sun, it's all I see. Once the car's line is broken at the door from the crease, it sticks out like a sore thumb.
Ah man, double whammy :( Sorry to hear that.
Rivian has been great through this so far. Responsive and accommodating. I wish the car didn’t have these issues to begin with, and quite frankly, shouldn’t have made it past a factory QC process, but it did, so here we are.
I'll hold final...
Definitively good to hear, that in the end, you were happy with the results. I'm expecting the worst as far as time away at the shop. Awaiting a call from my service consultant on timing of the repair. He asked if I could drop the car of this Friday, which is way faster than I had originally...
I'm going with replacement of the door. Rivian agrees that is the best route, due to where the damage lies. Service ticket in progress. Thanks for all of the feedback! Much appreciated.
Rivian has been accommodating so far. The pendulum swings between keeping it and returning it. If they guarantee it’ll get fixed, I’ll give them the shot to make it right. Currently timeframes haven’t been locked down. Would need to be sooner than later
Requested that exact thing.
If it wasn’t right where my eyes go when entering the car, I could possibly live with it. I know I’m fixated on this issue, but I can’t shake it. The car has been great so far.
Yeah, lots of back and forth. Though it’s lessened on their response the last couple days. They haven’t offered anything specific yet. I asked about full door replacement.
I don’t feel it’s a lot to ask, that my 2+ year wait for this car, be nearly flawless upon delivery. I understand shit happens in transit, but this? This rolled off the line like this. No way they didn’t know. I probably should have rejected on the spot.
Then when I try to eventually sell it...
It’s an option for sure. Just not the one I want to deal with. Also I’ve seen mention that once the car enters a body shop it’s flagged as “damage fixed” and will show on a carfax report. Again, not sure that’s true, but I’d rather not gamble.
Good luck! Hope it turns out well. I’ve seen too many horror stories of a Rivian coming out worse than it went in at a body shop. Plus no use of the car for weeks. This is going to give me an ulcer.
Heya,
I took delivery of my R1S last Saturday. Noted some small gaps in plastic trim, couple paint chips and an oddity in the rear drivers side door, up the pillar. It was late in the day so I didn’t have direct sun on the car, so we noted it and I accepted delivery.
The next morning with the...
