I just want to clarify that designed and engineered are two different things. You can have the same engineering workforce and design a vastly different or better product based on leadership or design. Rivian has seen it's fair share of Tesla engineers, but I don't think any designers have hopped...
It's already been stated it's coming to the US. Elon's statement of "advent of self driving" makes it seem like the solution is already here and now nobody wants to own a car anymore. I would say it's mostly him not wanting people to wait on buying anything. No doubt it will cost more here due...
I don't see the R2 as a Y competitor. I'm sure there is overlap due to either seating or price, but they are different enough. If you want an SUV, you're not going to get a Y which is basically a hatchback. Styling is also very different. At the end of the day, the both offer seating for five...
Just ordered these today. I don't do any heavy towing or off-roading so went with the standard load rated ones. They show up as the default recommendation under Tire Rack so figured it wasn't detrimental. Wonder if they'll be any differences feel/efficiency wise compared to the LT.
I'd pay extra just not to deal with the hassle of trying to find either an end spot at a Tesla station or taking up two charging spots if I'm not on the end.
Just got my car back yesterday. It's been sitting complete for over a week and the delays have been constant. I would like to mention though that the delays were mostly from insurance dragging their feet on everything. A few from waiting on parts but those were minimal in the total timeline.
I...
I went to B&S Hacienda in Pleasanton. The one closest to 580. Have been in the shop this entire time though, mostly from my own insurance slacking and some parts delays though. The shop itself has been very responsive and keeps me up to date weekly. I should be picking it up this week and will...
3/8" EDPM foam insulation with 3mm wool felt for the finish. It's way better than the elephant skin that was in there and doesn't sweat. I don't know why people treat that stuff like it's the greatest thing ever.
Thanks. It was a total gut job. Managed to save the original stove and fridge though as we wanted to keep the charm of the era. Completely reoutfitted the interior with modern insulation, cabin heater, 12v system, etc. Used all stainless and marine hardware and fittings.
Went in for service and they "replaced the column" although I'm skeptical of that as they said they replaced a bunch of other things in that visit that were clearly not replaced. It felt like they tightened something which helped the issue. Eventually it came back but not as bad as before. It's...
Hoping this helps for me. What I've noticed...
Walk away from Rivian...car locks after I'm 200 ft away and i'm constantly turning around to check.
or
Walk from tailgate to driver's door..car locks the second I reach my hand out.
There is zero incentive to release details early. Why do you think Tesla doesn't advertise the new model? Once you see what's coming, why would you buy what's out now? The only thing it would do is convince people to wait instead of buying today.
Agree. Plus it's too capital intensive. I always said Tesla should have come out with a "dumb" car. No cameras, no crazy power. Just a commuter with rwd, decent range, and some buttons. I'd rather have a car I feel comfortable in and enjoy the driving experience than something that's missing...
