Update form OP:
I retrieved the coin from under the seat. No, it did not slide into a vent; it was just under the seat.
I removed the 4 bolts, two in the front, two in the back, and tilted the seat back. I did not need to remove the seat from the car, nor would I ever want to. I then...
It should work. It's a very tight fit and you have to pull (stretch) the thing forward after you hook it around the seat belt female buckle end and push down from the top at the same time. Once it's in there, it doesn't move and has worked very well for me. I have one one both front seats.
Under the front driver seat in the black abyss of nothingness where all matter becomes lost forever, yet rolls around with a never ending sound of annoyance. Quoth the Raven, “Nevermore.”

Great idea! It’s not magnetic so it won’t stick. I didn’t try tape or sticky stuff yet, so that’ll be next. Thanks for giving me that idea!
And yes the gap filler is installed, albeit too late. That’s kept other stuff from slipping down there, so it is a Must Have.
Thanks again!
No, I did not expect them to do it for free nor did I intend to suggest as much with my question. Just wondering what others did with similar issues. I tried the gripper tool, but just can’t seem to snag the item from under there.
Rivian mobile service wants to charge me $320 to remove an item which fell between the driver seat and console and is now stuck under the seat. Work entails unbolting the seat, retrieving the item, and bolting the seat back on. The item is worthless, but is annoyingly sliding around down there...
I got my R1S through the shop about a week after configuring. The only difference was the interior color (black mountain vs ocean coast) and I am glad I went with the one in the shop (ocean coast) b/c it looks way better IMO. I liked knowing the vehicle was already built and didn’t have to wait...
