In spring to fall I am averaging pretty much the same as the Pirellis. Winter time I have no comparison to the OEMS but due to cold temps I get around 250-280 miles over the standard 300 depending on city or highway.
I always replace them when around 3-4/32. Not worth risking my life on a worn out tire. I have the new Michelin Defenders LTX MS2 on my 21s and they are phenomenal. Smooth, quiet and comfortable. Great snow and ice traction especially for all seasons.
Had my 2024 Rivian R1S Quad for 2 years and none of these issues ever arose. Do a full vehicle reset and restart Iphone for proxmity unlock and all those minor issues you are having.
Kneel mode will quit if you immediately open door after parking. I just keep vehicle on low suspension setting...
Its definitely the new tire mold lubricant that have to wear off these performance tires that was causing the slippage etc. Need 500 to 1k miles to wear them off. Glad you are liking it!
Just you let you know these defenders are phenomenal tires just make sure they road force the front wheels and tires less than 10 lbs. I had slight vibration in the steering wheel with 15 lbs in front so they moved that to the back and it's smooth now. In the front I have less than 10 lbs road...
Good question. I put my rivian in change mode when I dropped it off to my independent installer before they remove the wheels and tires and do the road force balance on these Michelin defenders. They already had the jack pucks and I left them the directions to put it in tire change mode just in...
Thats way too much. I pay 200 dollars to mount and road force at my independent installer. If they did not need to remove the tire and remount it they will charge me less if the road force was good from the beginning. Rivian should only charge you if the tire/wheel combo needs to be rematched...
I am surprised to hear this in regards to the Pilot Sport 4S... I have a 2021 RS7 and 22 inch rims and thinner wider Pilot Sport 4S then the Tesla and they are phenomenal tires going past 25k on these without issues. Also had these on few other cars no issues. I have had more blow outs and out...
I had the same issues with the defenders ltx ms2 in size 21s and had my tires installed by my independent mechanic who did the road force balance properly and got all the tires/wheels set up below 10 lbs of road force and it is now smooth as glass. DIscount tire techs are usually not experienced...
All good! I've been buying from tirerack for over 15 years and having my tires installed at their local installer who has been awesome over the years and no issues. They warranty everything from out of round tires, premature wear etc. I stop going to local tire chains.
They know how to proper...
After 8 months on these Michelin Defenders, I'm glad I switched to them on my 21s. The ride and comfort is way better, improved snow and rain traction and super smooth as glass on highways up to 90 mph. Efficiency is not that much different from the Pirellis. You will be happy.
I'm glad to hear that. I had absolutely no vibration or steering wheel shake in over a 5 hour drive up north after this road force balance with my new Michelin tires on my 2024 R1S. The ride was smooth and the steering wheel didn't even shake once. It's truly down to the technician doing the...
I have stressed this over and over, the techs need to get the wheels and tires road forced balanced and no more than 10 lbs of road force on the front wheels and tires especially. My R1S had a slight vibration in the steering wheel on the 21s and Michelin Defenders MS2 tires and I went back in...
Michelins are definitely a step up. Smoother, quieter and much better traction in rain and snow. I noticed it immediately after dumping the Pirellis. I do notice that steering response has slightly gone down over the Pirellis when I first got it but its not as good and heavy weighted feeling...
Another reason why I never take any of my cars to big tire chain stores anymore. They dont calibrate their balancing machines often and are lazy plus do not do road force balancing. I have used tirerack for the past 10 years and have them delivered to my independent tirerack installers who have...
Another reason why I never take my cars to discount tire. I get my tires drop shipped from tirerack to my nearest tirerack installer which is more reputable and does everything correctly with road force balancing. Only take a discount car to discount tire tbh... Techs there are not as well...
