I'm having the same issue. I do not have Connect+ and instead run a shortcut using my phone as a hotspot. It's always worked perfectly and instantly connected until the most recent OTA update. Now it takes 10+ minutes to connect and then after connecting, will frequently disconnect or...
My OEM 22" Pirellis lasted 15K and I hated them the entire time. Put on Michelin Defender LTX M/S2 last week and have been impressed so far. It's a very limited sample size (only a couple hundred miles) but they seem smoother and quieter, which could just be attributed to new vs worn tires...
I have no problem with Rivian charging for connectivity to their hotspot, priority OTA updates, and some other features. But it’s crappy that Spotify is behind that paywall. That’s a poor decision by Rivian. I guess it’s consistent with all their other questionable music-related decisions. RJ...
My next truck will likely be a Lightning. For me the R1T is both a gateway truck and a gateway EV. But I don't need all the fancy stuff the Rivian does so a Lightning (or maybe the Silverado EV) would work great. And it has a lot more interior room than my Riv. That's important since I'm...
I get asked about my Defender a lot more than my Rivian. And sometimes I get asked about both or which one I like better. My answer is always the same. I like the Rivian a lot, but I LOVE my Defender!
Update: the audio quality in my gen 1 R1T (OG Rivian in-house) now sounds much better after the update. Still not awesome, but a significant and noticeable improvement!
I'm no audiophile but I believe audio quality is tied more to hardware than to software. And the audio hardware in Rivians is embarrassingly bad for a $95K vehicle. Like "I just rented the cheapest Nissan Sentra you can get and it had better audio quality than my Rivian" bad. So I don't know...
My daughter and I were at the mall this weekend and saw a Cybertruck in the Tesla store so she wanted to pop in and check it out. Both she and my son think it's awesome and cooler than our R1T. I think it's ridiculous. But I was more impressed with it up close than I am when I see it in...
No. I miss my Defender (still have it, but my wife drives it now). I really like the R1T, but I don't love it. I would definitely buy another Rivian, but I'd get the R1S for my wife and I'd take the Defender back.
I've seen used Rivian wheel/tire/TPMS sensors available here and on Craigslist for prices ranging from $250-500 per wheel. If it's just a spare sitting under the bed then you can buy any size Rivian wheel with 15,000 miles (or whatever) on the tire and it should be fine.
I'm not reserving an R2, but I'd pick up an R3X right now if it was available. It'd be a perfect daily commuter / runaround car in addition to a big ICE SUV for when I need the space.
Same. Finally got to test drive a Fieldmaster and was very underwhelmed. Exterior and drive train were great but the interior is awful and it’s missing a ton of modern conveniences that should be present on a $90k car in 2024. I haven’t actually cancelled my order yet because delivery has been...
