You're right! I went for the more basic Heritage spec because I felt like the price accurately matched the overall quality of the vehicle. I seriously considered the 60th Anniversary Outer Banks edition, but it would've cost $10-12K more than the Heritage and just didn't feel worth it. Mid...
This thread has gone in several different directions including, somehow, snowmobiles. I love it! Thanks all for the contributions, insight, opinions, and dialogue. Like Badger4149 said, I'm glad we have choices!
Grenadier was on my short list two years ago and again two months ago. They're great! I'll own a Grenadier or Quartermaster sometime in the not too distant future. Also, I hope you pulled the trigger on that Unimog! It looks bitchin!!!
Great choice! I really wanted a manual Bronco. I know they have manuals, but they're hard to find. And I had a very specific color configuration I was searching for and there were no manuals available in that configuration in a 500 mile radius. Love driving a stick!
I think people would love EV driving if it came in a "normal" package. Rivian comes very close to offering that, but it still always felt like I was driving a computer. I wish the F150 Lightning would've had more commercial success so other traditional auto manufacturers would follow suit.
I would've given it a serious look! I was looking at F150 Lightnings and almost pulled the trigger on one. I thought those were a great example of a "real" truck with an EV powertrain...a perfect combo! But I thought a red Bronco would be a bit more fun for a midlife crisis car.
When I bought the R1T saving the planet or reducing emissions wasn't even on my list of reasons why. I just liked the styling, the driving experience, and the convenience of plugging it in at home. But the damn thing was $95K!! My Bronco was $54K and it brings me just as much joy, probably...
Obviously a very different vehicle and very different driving experience. But I'm loving the Bronco! I forgot how nice it is to have intuitive knobs and switches controlling things inside the car. 30 years of driving-related muscle memory means it just feels like home to have a "normal"...
I'm having the same issue. I do not have Connect+ and instead run a shortcut using my phone as a hotspot. It's always worked perfectly and instantly connected until the most recent OTA update. Now it takes 10+ minutes to connect and then after connecting, will frequently disconnect or...
My OEM 22" Pirellis lasted 15K and I hated them the entire time. Put on Michelin Defender LTX M/S2 last week and have been impressed so far. It's a very limited sample size (only a couple hundred miles) but they seem smoother and quieter, which could just be attributed to new vs worn tires...
I have no problem with Rivian charging for connectivity to their hotspot, priority OTA updates, and some other features. But it’s crappy that Spotify is behind that paywall. That’s a poor decision by Rivian. I guess it’s consistent with all their other questionable music-related decisions. RJ...
My next truck will likely be a Lightning. For me the R1T is both a gateway truck and a gateway EV. But I don't need all the fancy stuff the Rivian does so a Lightning (or maybe the Silverado EV) would work great. And it has a lot more interior room than my Riv. That's important since I'm...
I get asked about my Defender a lot more than my Rivian. And sometimes I get asked about both or which one I like better. My answer is always the same. I like the Rivian a lot, but I LOVE my Defender!
