Funny- I just assumed that the tail gate dropped without assistance and that was normal. Until I sent my R1S in for service, then they told me it was missing LOL.

I live in Canada and got a minor dent on the front passenger side panel. Rivian said I lose my warranty if I do not go with a Rivian certified shop. The shop quoted me $5,899.61 CAD. The dent adds character, I'll keep it until warrantee runs out!

I agree with OP, it is not typical behaviour IMO. Having said that, I'm glad it does tell me it cannot keep it on, because from my experience so far - the R1S Driver+ is not to be trusted.

The truth is that the price reflects their production and distribution constraints. There is a general slow-down in EV sales that is compounded by the fact that Rivian is going to need time to scale up. How they do that is going to make or break them.
