  1. Another "critical battery issue" story

Update: Rivian SC in Cleveland has been awesome. Got a loaner R1S which made me happy instead of dealing with Enterprise. Everything is under warranty and they are replacing the entire HV battery system. SC estimating a week to get max battery pack in and swap it with defective one. Keep you...
  2. Another "critical battery issue" story

Wife drove home last night, pulled in garage with no R1S issues. Plugged into Rivian wall charger and went about our evening. She is off on Fridays and I was working from home, was going to pull R1S out of garage. Disconnected wall charger. Jumped in and “critical battery issue, drive...
  3. Charging a Rivian from various outlets (tried 120v through the 14-50 mobile charger too)

Thanks for the explanation. This configuration is something I will add to the frunk so that if we are traveling and power sources are limited I could possibly use this to get the 3.6kW for a little extra charge than the 120V. And I will definitely make sure to have the correct extension cords in...
  4. Charging a Rivian from various outlets (tried 120v through the 14-50 mobile charger too)

I stand corrected. Just looked at the Shockflo unit I have and it allows you to charge at the following AMPS…Configurable maximum current outputs of 16, 20, 24, 32, and 40 amps. my thought (untested) is that with the configuration I described and charging at 16 Amps all should be good (Again...
  5. Charging a Rivian from various outlets (tried 120v through the 14-50 mobile charger too)

This is not the “ideal” charger this is more for an “emergency”. The Shockflo unit allows you to lower the Amps all the way down to 10 I believe so in an “emergency” will provide a faster charge than the Rivian 120V connection. Just figured I would share. We all spent a lot of money on our...
  6. Charging a Rivian from various outlets (tried 120v through the 14-50 mobile charger too)

Both 120V outlets I used are 30 amp breakers, the surge protector would kick in if voltage is out of range before tripping panel breakers
  7. Charging a Rivian from various outlets (tried 120v through the 14-50 mobile charger too)

Hi all, bought this off off Amazon…take two non parallel 120V (non GFI) and connected to make 240V with 14/50 male. Also got the 50amp breaker off of Amazon for added security. Charger is good at 32 Amps!
