Yeah not sure when the switchover was, but this is true. I have an early 2024 and they told me it had the new subframe too. I assume this is why my suspension has been dead silent and other Gen 1 owners complain about noises.
The “extra stuff” in the launch edition is a tow package and a lifetime self driving subscription thrown in for free. Why wouldn’t you want that? Otherwise the launch edition is identical to the performance trim and the same price.
I echo the Forest Green + Coastal Cloud people…that’s my top choice right now as well.
I saw an R2 with coastal cloud in person at SXSW and it looks very modern and premium.
You push/pull on the left haptic scroll wheel to telescope the steering wheel, not the steering wheel itself. I adjusted it, had a lot of range and was easy.
Edit: I see this has been beat to death now, sorry!
That's the standard functionality. Similar to the standard autopilot that Tesla discontinued. The Autonomy+ subscription adds fully hands free driving and will change lanes on its own etc. Traffic light and stop sign functionality and then full point to point self-driving are rolling out via...
Like others have said, if you want the launch edition, I think you will be fine. A year ago was already over a year after reservations opened, so you were already pretty far back.
Loads of people put down $100 right away because they were excited about a cheaper Rivian, but they're not gonna...
I do most of my driving in sport mode haha. I actually feel like my R1 feels firmer and the steering heavier in sport. But handling and throttle response were much sportier in the R2. The R2 in sport almost feels as comforable as the R1 in soft, but more athletic than the R1 in Sport. I havent...
I think there's probably just a brief learning curve and you took the time to play with them and figure it out. I was focused on other things so was fumbling with the scroll wheels withing really trying to master them. I LOVED the way they felt in hand and the scrolling feel was excellent...I...
I always find this opinion that it looks smaller than some people expected very interesting.
I'm curious what your expectation was regarding size? It looks more visually imposing and taller than a Model Y, Ioniq 5, Mach-E, etc and its been clear all along that those are the vehicles this car...
Aww. I used to live down the steet from the Laguna Space. I would always pop in for the various events and movies they would have. I miss it so much :(
I moved to Dallas for work/logistical reasons because I was travelling every other week and the west coast was very inconvenient. Texas sucks...
I have a DM R1T so hp is similar, and the R2 felt significantly faster. With the R1, you feel the weight much more. The R2 takes off like a rocket and you don't feel the weight of it at all.
I've also driven several Gen 1 Quads, both R1S and R1T and to be completely honest, have never been...
