Whatever shop you use, call ahead to ensure they'll work on a Rivian. I had a set of after-market wheels and tires delivered, and a couple of local shops wouldn't touch my Rivian even though I have a set of pucks.
You’re missing the extended Jack-puck that EV sells for the bottle jack. The extended puck has a hollow area for the top of the jack to slide into. The rubber ring compression fits the jack to the puck. My jack had one installed and an extra included in the case.
I’m a bit frustrated by my...
Very interesting. If you happen to have one, it would be great to see a picture of where on the lower control arm that is a good spot, just so I don't do anything stupid.
I have the EV Sportline version, and it works fine. I recommend putting the magnetic disc in during the installation, as driving with the windows down can cause the front sunshade to fall out due to buffeting. Oddly the included clips for the rear sunshade are different and work much better...
Nice wheels and tires look aggressive, too!
I originally wanted the Canyon Red, but when I considered wheel color combos, I changed to the FG, knowing the bronze would be a great match.
I have an appointment for Friday to install my Bogart pre-cut lightbars and window trim in gloss black vinyl. I'm going to see if they'll wrap the crossbars. I'm not too worried about wrapping the slider portion, as I have an R1S and don't foresee a need to adjust them.
The tires weigh 56 lbs, and the wheels, I believe, weigh 35 lbs. EV Sportline does not list the weight on its site, but I did ask when I ordered over the phone. I'm not a hyper-miler person and have only needed to charge at my house, so I went into this knowing I'm going to take a range hit.
I spent some of my Memorial weekend mounting my new 22" EV Sportline R500 forged wheels and Toyo Open Country III A/T 285/50-22 tires. Look even better in person than I could have hoped.
I mounted them myself today. I'll need to figure out the tire rotation, but this rim design made the process simpler as the rims are directional per side.
I called a local tire shop to install my new wheel and tire combo, but they wouldn't touch a Rivian. I explained I had the magnetic pucks to lift it safely, and they refused. I then asked if they could just use a floor jack with the pucks one wheel at a time, and they still refused. My EV...
I'm curious about this comment about removing the plastic film. Is there a plastic film on the Rivian trim pieces that need to be removed before the vinyl installation?
Edit 06/01/2024:
I took my S in to have the chrome delete and headlight/taillight tint installed. While I was there I asked the wrapper if he’d vinyl wrap the crossbars. He charged $100 extra, but I think it turned out well.
I'm blacking out my R1S and have a solution for everything except...
I hope there will be some Memorial Day sales. I need the 6-ton bottle jack/extended spacer and torque wrench combo to install my new EV Sportline 22" wheel/tire combo. I have the pucks, but local tire shops won't touch them.
I just ordered from Shapeways. It's exactly the position I've been wanting, and I couldn't find a good solution. I like my phone to be mounted and viewed with a powered mag mount. Thanks for creating this.
Is there room to rotate to portrait mode?
I'm reviving an old thread, but I can't figure out why the lights and wiper switches are redundant on the front and back of the stalk. Not a huge issue, but even the manual really only references the switches on the front. Seems they could have used the back side switches for something else.
