  1. Review: R1 Gen 2 wireless charging pad vs. TWRAPS dual-magsafe charger

I’m not worried about the phone heating up a little bit - fairly normal for charging. I don’t have a case on my phone so I never really have a problem with it heating up - I have a fast charger at home and it works perfectly and is much needed when I use my phone all day for work and tethering...
  2. Review: R1 Gen 2 wireless charging pad vs. TWRAPS dual-magsafe charger

I bought the TWRAPS mag-charger straight after we got the R1S Gen 1 a year ago. The “mag” part of the charger works perfectly and as others have stated, is a great upgrade to the crappy charger Rivian had as standard. My only issue with TWRAPS is the amp-rating - it is SO SLOW to charge and...
  3. Conserve Misconception

Thank you, voice of reason. Agree 100% that it really isn't a binary decision. You use it if/when you feel the need - to eke out additional mileage to get home and avoid an additional charging stop. The example I gave previously is something that I've found myself in where highway driving...
  4. Conserve Misconception

I'm such a dork and I love this data too. In my experience, the range estimates on the Rivian have always been "conservative" and when I'm in Conserve mode, that is even "conservative" in how it estimates range - to see that spelled out in the data shared here warms my heart. Others in this...
  5. R1S Charging speeds and range

In addition to the battery size and times to charge comments made by other Adventurer folks, there are two additional things I’d note: Tesla range estimates always have me range anxiety as inevitably, no matter where and how was I was driving, the available destination range would always...
  6. Which magsafe charger would you get?

The wood grain finish is a vinyl stick on so it appears wood finish to match the interior of your car.
  7. Setting up gearguard drivecam with new usb drive

Yes. And I’ve also tried every combination of advice from actual users in this forum who have successfully connected at USB-C drive. So it’s now over to Rivian support to solve.
  8. Setting up gearguard drivecam with new usb drive

That is the exact drive I bought the second time. I plugged it directly into the left port inside the center console. I also tried the right port too. No cables were used/harmed in this. Sounds like I’ve got a defect that I’m going to have to call them on.
  9. Setting up gearguard drivecam with new usb drive

The charger does work as I have a MagSafe plugged into it. I’ve also reset the system to no avail.
  10. Setting up gearguard drivecam with new usb drive

It’s Gen 1. I message them but they’ve requested I call them so will do that this week. Just wondered if there was an easy fix.
  11. Setting up gearguard drivecam with new usb drive

I’ve been unable to setup a new usb drive to record gear guard drivecam but the car does not recognize any usb-c memory drive. I’ve followed the instructions that many have posted online (format fat32, create gear guard folder etc) and bought multiple different branded 256gb usb drives but the...
  12. Phone as key - Proximity Issues

I have a similar problem where my office is above the garage. I turn off Bluetooth on my phone while I’m in my office. And turn it back on again when I want to get into the car. It works for me because I don’t need Bluetooth during the day and it’s super quick easy from the Home Screen - but I’d...
  13. Camp speaker won't turn off ?

I’ve found the camp speaker to be poorly built and very glitchy. Last week it decided to make this loud sound every 15 secs - had to reset the whole thing. The loud sounds when you turn it on and off are also ridic.
  14. Using key fob for valet - need to leave in car

That’s what I do. The fob proximity is off so it effectively is like a key card. I always have my phone with me so it works fine.
  15. Using key fob for valet - need to leave in car

The address thing was certainly a secondary concern for me. Unfortunately NJ does still require the paper registration and does not yet have the apple wallet license feature. Either way, we are currently keeping the fob and one key card hidden in the car. If for some reason my phone doesn’t...
  16. Using key fob for valet - need to leave in car

My husband and I use our phones to open the car. We use the key fob when we need to valet the car. Problem is that we don’t want to have to carry the key fob around with us every time we need to valet (we would forget to bring it with us too!)… so we have the proximity for the key fob turned off...
  17. Question about Profiles

Tesla introduced the separate Spotify accounts in May 2022 - prior to that, they too operated the same as Rivian (one single account for the car). Unfortunately that multi-account feature has not arrived on the Rivian (as far as I am aware but over on RivianTrackr wishlist, it has been upvoted a...
  18. Rivian R1S questions.

I’d consider the dual (for range) and get the 22’. They’re way better looking on the vehicle. Comments by others relating to noise or ride quality does not align with my experience as Rivian is amazing. I owned a Model Y and the Rivian is immensely superior to that and better than any other car...
  19. Not a 'known' navigation issue... my bad.

I also found this old thread that talks about what data is being shared and some references to Rivian data sharing practices. At this stage, location driver is not shared with 3rd party insurance companies and as many point out, is restricted in many states to impact insurance (price and...
  20. Which magsafe charger would you get?

After some research, I got the TWraps MagSafe charger with matching wood finish. Am very happy with it. It seamlessly keeps the phone in position and charges at a good speed. https://a.co/d/8ynVsk8
