Why can't you simply enable the outlets for xx hours and run an extension cord? It's only 120V 12A (x2) but that should be plenty for camping. Rivian did say they will enable V2H on all existing vehicles, but we're still waiting for that.
Perfect timing to release this in the winter. There's no f-ing way isn't going to survive in the summer heat. I'm curious to know if Tesla will be sending them a C&D on this, as well.
Rivian has some of the best software on the market. Why would they screw it up by enabling CarPlay? CP and AA are used when OEMs don't have a good software stack. I would much rather have software on my vehicle made by an auto manufacturer, not relying on a phone.
I just picked up a Polestar...
Both of my cards are paired and neither have worked since I got the vehicle. I use my phone and fob, so it's not a big deal. Will get them to address it the next time I'm in the SC.
V1 and V2 used CAN communication for handshake, which is legacy CHAdeMO-like. The V3 and V4 (along with SAE-CCS) use standard CCS protocol over ethernet (I believe). The Tesla V3 and V4 have hardware components that support older Teslas that can only talk via CAN.
I think that's the key. If you ride in Low or Very Low, it's going to be harsh. For long-distance driving I put it at Low or Very Low, but around town where there are bumps and potholes, I put it right in the middle. It gives the suspension more room to travel, along with Soft. I have my...
See if you can negotiate mileage reimbursement vs using an auto carrier. Unless your vehicle is put on first or it's a non-stop trip, they'll be taking your truck off and on throughout the trip as they drop off other cars. More chances for damage.
Usually, yes. It's because you're "ending" a relationship with a financial institution which could lower your average account age. Also, it could affect your debt to credit ratio.
If you want AM radio, you can do what I do and get a RTL-SDR radio (USB) and connect it to your phone, then BT audio to the truck. In order to get the lower frequencies that AM uses, you'll need a Frequency Upconverter.
Two weeks ago I did my very first long-distance trip in the R1S and used CCS twice. As a long-time Tesla owner that's taken MANY long-distance trips with it, NACS wins hands down. CCS is clunky and cumbersome. RAN charger is very nice, but it was still CCS "frankenplug". Once RAN chargers get...
I looked through my emails and didn't see one, but I thought I saw a discount code for people that bought the running boards, for stuff like this horn kit. Was I dreaming?
It looks like MEVCO is using these on their mining vehicles. I don't think they look bad. Looking closer at them, it seems they are using the mounting points that are used for the tow hooks, not that they are mounted to the tow hooks.
LOL nope. RIP CCS. NACS (SAE J3400) is a much better plug. It was better than CCS1 back in 2012 when Tesla proposed it to SAE but the other auto manufacturers didn't want the extra cost per vehicle, and they outvoted Tesla's design. Tesla said f-it and did their own thing since they were...
