They're okay, if you can get one nearest the ice cream store. They get progressively lower wattage the further that you get south. Connectivity can be a problem to start the charging, too.
In my Gen1 I find that hitting a bump on the freeway directly couples to your butt in low. Standard allows the suspension to absorb some of that shock.
grip. I got some long-lasting, high UTQG tires for my other EV and now I spin out when I floor the accelerator at an intersection. In retrospect the long-life tires were not worth it -- whatever you get, make sure that braking and acceleration performance are good.
If you think that $8 for 8 minutes of charge is too much then feel free to charge at a 50kW ChargePoint somewhere. You’ll get the same amount of charge, it will just take half an hour instead :)
Okay so this part of the Rivian website is bogus then.
How do I plug in my vehicle?
Simply open the powered charge port door from your touchscreen, app, or press on the door itself. Plug your vehicle in and monitor your charge status from the Rivian app.
When I google how to open the charge port, it says that you can open it using the app. But for the life of me I'm not finding how to do that in the app -- what am I missing? Would someone please point me in the right direction? Thnx!!
Has someone tried that one? I think that part of the 'incompatibility' is physical: Tesla put in curbstops so that you couldn't crash your Tesla into the dispensers, but those prevent many EVs from getting close enough to charge (*cough* F150 Lightning I'm looking at you). So for some...
