I don't get it. I had a 2008 Saturn Vue SUV that had a fold flat front passenger seat. It was a game changer in carrying the occasional long cargo! Did regulations change?
Yeah, my bad... I thought they were saying "available immediately". Ugh.
When are the promises of "bi-directional soon" going to become "bi-directional NOW"?
If anyone was going to be first to market, I would think it'd be Enphase. Then maybe Rivian would just badge-engineer it and slap...
And when you see some of the Chinese vehicles that have captains chairs that swivel 180 degrees to give a "living room mode" it's hard not to get jealous (and feel a little cheated)
I truly appreciate everyone's feedback. (really) As a parent of young kids, safety is the only thing on my mind.
While my R1S is a lease, if a third party were to offer a mod where a recessed handle could be added to the bottom of the "removable" 2nd row armrest and attached to the emergency...
Has anyone successfully tried and removed the rear armrest piece that allows access to the 2nd row emergency mechanical release?
I've casually examined it and to say I'm disappointed is an understatement. I'm not sure if I'm over-reacting, but as someone with young kids this hits me somewhere...
Tried the XM update last night for the first time. BLOWN AWAY. I'm not sure if it's all due to the app or increased bitrate, or if some stereo tweaks got snuck in to the update as well, but for the first time I feel like I have a car with an actual premium sound system.
One thing they may be getting overlooked in this whole Satellite vs Streaming XM debate is QUALITY. I swear the bitrate I was getting from the satellite-based hardware on my last couple cars made it barely listenable. (Blame it on XM's millions of channels model) I'm hoping that with streaming...
I just hope it doesn't take forever to come out and then cost big $$$ when it does...
But seriously, can you just make do with a bare 40-amp outlet and adapter in the meantime? I don't want this to delay a purchase of a R1S refresh!
My bad. I meant the R1 refresh packs. Looks like base pack is the only LFP. So no possibility there. But... the Large and Max may be the same same unit with the Large being software limited/locked.
Apologize if this has been asked/answered before but...
Does anyone know if any of the new R2 (oops!) R1 Refreshed Batteries are actually identical but software limited (locked)?
Specifically "Standard" vs "Large". It's strikes me as a distinct possibility from a simplifying manufacturing...
If Rivian wants to blow everyone's mind again (looking at you R3), leverage existing products, increase sales, and get a new product out the door quickly...
