I filed my protest June 14 and received the letter that said they accepted it on July 17th. Then money was deposited sometime last week. So hopefully yours will be accepted soon?!
Yay success. After filing protest, I received a letter about 4-5 weeks later that my protest explanation was accepted. Checked today and the $5000 was deposited into my account.
ugh I also got the reject letter this week. I filed a protest and included my door sticker, purchase agreement, and highlighted the 'category 7' 'Category 7 Electric Truck or Plug-in Hybrid Electric Truck' on DR0617. Fingers crossed it gets fixed quickly.
I too am interested in the nATs as a 'do it all' tire even in Colorado winters where I usually get dedicated snow tires. I found this thread from a FJ/Toyota/Lexus forum where a guy had the nAT's on his truck for a full winter in Leadville, CO. It convinced me enough to go for it this year. I...
yeah I hear you on that. I have it setup in the garage as the standing rack for most of the time. If I only need to carry a few bikes I have an old 2 up hitch Yakima rack. Also have the roof rails and a few old roof trays if needed.
Configuration nightmare with all the possibilities of who is...
Mine just died today. R1S with 4000miles. No warning at all. Have a mobile tech scheduled for monday. glad we were not using it for a trip this weekend like we normally do!! I'm trying the trickle charge but it seems dead dead like 0v. Why is this still an issue!!
So I have taken this now on 2 longer trips in Colorado. The rack sticks up quite a bit higher than I expected and does have an impact on range. I was getting ~1.8m/kwh over 500mile trip through the mountains with 5 bikes on it.
The wind noise was not bad from the front seat. Not sure from the...
As a 6' athletic male it is difficult to install solo but I can do it. I have to carefully brace using my shoulders on the rack and I'm just tall enough for it to work. With 2 people it is much easier.
I also just received my check! $7500+$742 interest. In my submission I included my signed 'Binding Purchase Agreement', the printouts of the IRS rules and highlighted the pertinent text that explained the odd rule about 'put in service Aug 2022'. I presume that may have helped move the issue...
There are 2 versions of this tire in 275/60R20. A 115H rated and a 123 LT rated.
The 115H is a bit cheaper and presumably a bit lighter, but is slightly under the stock load rating. Anyone know if the 115H tire is ok for an R1S?
TLDR: With 21ft 2850lb popup camper, ABRP settings 1.8mi/kwh and 3500lbs 'extra weight', planning was accurate and reliable to use. Rivian estimated 216mi at 100% with 21" road wheels and 1.7mi/kwh after 350miles towing.

First real towing trip done and dusted with our R1S and...
Do you have any trouble with the hitch locking pin? I've heard the pin is not long enough to fit all the way through the R1S receiver and lock on the other side.
Thanks for posting the example and finding those documents. I am about to amend my 2022 return and had planned some similar guidance in the 1040X form, but your extra FAQs and sheets really amped up the clarity of information. I printed and highlighted specific sections as I need to mail in my...
