For us we haven't seen this, there have been plenty of times where we will test the car and I'll open the drivers door first and she will be a few feet away from the passenger door and it still goes to her. Sometimes it will work as expected but only when she is even further away. We've also...
Thanks for the feedback, and while I'm sad to hear others have the same experience it also helps to know we are not alone!
I 1000% agree with the thinking that R2 software is the main reason behind the R1 software impact, I believe resources have been focused on the new OS, R2 functions and...
We've had a 2025 R1S for about two years now and it's been an up-and-down ride with the software. There are months where everything in the car — which is mostly software-driven given the lack of physical buttons — works great and as expected, but for the most part it's been one step forward and...
Anyone know if you can assign the fob to a profile? I'm willing to buy a key fob if it can act like other cars key fobs that are assigned to a memory seat.
I went and tested it out yesterday, first time using a RAN charger. I got there with about 24% battery and battery temp at 61 even with pre-conditioning. Overall while it's great to have a RAN charger so close, I was disappointed in the charing speeds, and I think it's mostly my Rivian. I...
I am, it’s better than with the previous version though still issues. We have done a soft reset a few times and it fixes it for a few days, then it stops working.
Update to my update: Gear guard and center console USB ports are no longer working…. Interesting part about gear guard though and noticed this on previous update, it is working and is recording to my external drive, even if it says no drive connected. It just displays that it’s not working...
I have a gen 2 and gear guard is working for me. I’m hopeful this update fixes the USB issues we’ve been experiencing. Upon first install gear guard is now working and showing my storage device. Time will tell if it stays that way. Previously if I did a soft reset gear guard would work for a...
Thinking about the charger it could be the pro max? With its larger size perhaps it doesn’t move around as much, allowing it to keep charging. Also agree though every car is different on wireless charging and if I really need to charge I just plug it in.
I hear you on the USB plugs in 3rd...
Congrats! It’s a great vehicle, we’ve been loving ours.
Regarding that charger…Wow! How?! I have a gen 2 as well, little over a month now and the charger won’t work, chargers slow and over heats iPhones and they slide around. I’ve tested with iPhone pros, iPhone 11 Pro as well.
m assuming...
I’m hopeful that will help, but don’t believe it’s enabled yet as I don’t see any way in the app for me to add it. Hopefully soon! I’ll reach out to the guide and see if they can help.
Anyone else who has updated to this version, 23.30 have you seen any issues? Since the update I've noticed a few issues that are not the best experience given we just acquired the R1S. I'm hoping Rivian sees the issues and releases a fix sooner than later.

Long time reader of this forum, first time posting. This is defiantly news I'm waiting on and have been since about January when we decided we would pursue an R1S. I'm very surprised they didn't announce anything during the shut down to gain momentum and cash (orders). The only reason I can...
