  1. Should I buy the full-size 22" spare tire or the compact spare tire for R1S?

If you bring a spare, you should probably also carry jack pucks, as most tow trucks probably won't have them, and even some tire shops. And if you plan to replace a tire yourself, also a worthy jack and necessary tools. I think the better option is to carry a tire puncture repair kit, as these...
  2. About to lease a R1T. Need some help.

I am two years in on a 2024 R1S and still love it, No issues, the vehicle keeps getting better with software updates. I love it so much I am about to take delivery on a new R1S, and really can't go back to an ICE vehicle because of the many unseen until owned benefits of an EV. I've tried out...
  3. New RIVIAN GREEN Signature Color Revealed! 🌲

I agree, BMW, Porsche and others offer some lovely browns, and brown, green and blue are the key colors of nature. And it is refreshing to have actual colors instead of some blend of white and black as most manufacturers seem to only offer.
  4. Rivian Tri Motor R1S vs. Lucid Gravity Comparison Review by Edmunds

I agree. I really liked the "Tahoe" leather in the Lucid. Nice color and feel.
  5. Rivian Tri Motor R1S vs. Lucid Gravity Comparison Review by Edmunds

I test drove a Gravity a little over a week ago and it's fantastic. Much smoother acceleration and braking, cornering, and feels like it floats on the road and so much quieter without all of those electronic and air suspension clunking and whirring sounds of my R1S. Nearly as quick, but much...
  6. Rivian Q2 2025 Earnings Results

One does not have to believe in climate change causes to understand negative impacts of fossil fuel consumption. Simply route all tailpipes into the vehicle and let the driver and passengers decide if they think the breathing of these emissions is good for them. then let the market decide their...
  7. Rivian Q2 2025 Earnings Results

The only free market is one without tariffs and tax incentives. Not just for vehicles but also for the fuel. Then let the market compete equally.
  8. Rivian Q2 2025 Earnings Results

There is one silver lining: recent dollar deflation of over 10% and likely to continue for some time will increase imported cars by this same amount, regardless of any added tariffs. While this is overall very bad for US consumers, as dollar deflation decreases our purchasing power, it does make...
  9. Rivian Q2 2025 Earnings Results

I too am all for fair market competition, but we do not have a fair market and instead one that has grossly subsidized large vehicles and oil consumption for years. Section 179 allows for tax deduction of ~$31k per "heavy" vehicle, allowing nearly anyone to erase much to all of the cost of a...
  10. Fuse for spare 12 volt post in battery. Adding 12 volt accessory to battery etc..

Thank you much for sharing. Good to know. I've never explored this area, but these look a lot like a Marine Rated Battery Fuse (MRBF), yet these are called a single Mega. They look like they have a slightly different form factor, but I bet a MRBF would work as well with similar electrical specs...
  11. Building a new house - what would you ensure was part of the plan?

In regards to the garage only. Install a heat pump for cooling and heating when needed. Because of one I can now work in garage in winter or summer when otherwise couldn't because temps were unbearable. install a subpanel just for the garage to add circuits for future EV chargers, power tools...
  12. Edmunds' 2025 Gen2 R1T Dual Motor vs. Tacoma TRD Pro Off-Road Comparison

Modes, modes modes. With all of the sophistication and data these vehicles have: speed, location, road info, weather, wheel spin, motor torque, motor speed, throttle and steering positions, etc, etc, etc, vehicles should not have any modes--just drive and it figures out how to keep traction and...
  13. Any one regretted the R1S based on size?

Yes, I have to lay down my bike. I wish I could put at least two bikes in standing up with front wheels off and saddles up in their riding position (saddle height is never adjusted once set on racing bikes).
  14. Any one regretted the R1S based on size?

I fear that an R2 will be too short to both sleep in and fit at least one larger bike inside. It would be ideal to fit inside 2 to 4 bikes without having to lower the saddles which would mean 6+ feet of flat cargo space that is ~44" tall inside. I don't think an R2 will be long or tall enough to...
  15. Any one regretted the R1S based on size?

I have an R1S and find it too large, mostly in length. I do not need the third row and have recommended to Rivian to at least offer the R1S with a third row delete option to gain more cargo space and reduced weight and cost. However, the R1S does accommodate my large frame MTB inside easily...

I received the email to confirm shipping address two weeks ago yet still not adapter or shipping confirmation/tracking info.

  20. [Solved - high home HVAC use] Crazy electric bills from home charging. Is charger function to blame?

Realize that the generation rate on your utility is only about 1/2 to 1/3 of the total rate you pay, so best method is to take total invoice and divide by total kWhs to get your total rate including all transmission, distribution, capacity charges, fees, taxes, etc. The peak and non-peak rates...
