I have no reason to remove mine right now (and don't plan on taking it off often), but my plan is to build some saw horses and carefully lift the camper up on to some 2x4's or 2x6's. My hope is if the truck is in the highest off-road setting, and I build the sawhorses to the right height, that I...
When they were installing mine they noticed the same thing and decided to switch it out with a new piece. Apparently the locktite was causing issues with the glass or acrylic. I’d ask them to send you a new piece to install.
It does! GFC is making them as fast as they can and shipping them out after installation of the camper. Hopefully soon they'll have enough in stock to provide it at installation. Looks like self-install is super quick.
I’ll get more pics and a review soon, but in case anybody wants to see a black GFC on a forest green R1T, here you go! I’m super happy with the quality, install, and customer service from the GFC team today. Now just need to drive back 14 hours by tomorrow morning!
I was at the GFC shop today getting my camper installed and asked about the topper. First one was built a couple of weeks ago and is headed down to LA soon for testing. They said it could be six months till it’s in production as they want to get it right.
Sounds like one of the issues is the...
There are probably some easy options to do a 3rd light through the towing harness connection. I know some bike racks come with that already. But then you give up some of the Driver + features right? Or does the tow accessory setting in the rivian settings fix that?
Bummer. Not surprised by the brake light. At some point they had chimed in on this thread (or maybe it was an instagram comment) that the lights would be a direct connection to the bed, but they probably were thinking the bed had 12 volt like the gear tunnel and frunk. I'll just a battery pack...
Congrats! I’m there next week to pick up mine!
How’s the wind noise?
I saw their instagram story this morning with tailgate button on the outside. How do they handle the power tonneau button? I don’t remember them asking me if I had one!
You all are on a roll! How about hard-wiring the V2PRO lighting kit into the Rivian's power system? I understand on an ICE vehicle why you wouldn't want to do that, but we've got plenty of battery to power some lights =)
Love the updates! Lookin' amazing!
Quick question, you mention tonneau button may be accessible. Is that still up for debate or it'll be an option during our order? I'm certainly still hoping to use my power tonneau with the camper as an additional layer of security at times.
