  1. 2026 Rivian R2 Specs & Reviews!! 300+ Mile Range, 10-80% Charge in 30 Min, 656 hp / 609 lb-ft, 0-60 mph in 3.6s, dimensions

A Swiss horse and rider magazine recently published an article stating that 2026 will be a pivotal year for electric vehicles capable of towing horse trailers. They included the attached list of tow ratings, which highlights how the market is evolving. Obviously, Rivian is absent since they are...
  2. Which R2 Color Will You Choose?

I'm in Europe and hope that the R2 will be released here sooner than my current car dies (a Skoda Yeti - a small SUV based on the VW Golf platform). I think an R2 would look great wrapped in Toyo FJ Cruiser "Voodoo Blue" with a white roof.
  3. R2 Wish List?

Probably beating a dead horse, but still: Dongfeng can do flat front seats in their "Box" which is coming to Europe: An R2 with non-fold-flat front seats is Rivian's broken promise that hurts me the most. Being able to sleep flat in the car would add so much value.
  4. R2 in snow & cold temperature testing

On many VW vehicles there is a headlight shower that is activated every X times you pull the windshield washer. The Anti-freeze agent melts ice and snow off the headlights. Obviously you need to make sure to start filling winter fluid with anti-freeze in late fall.
  5. R2 in new gray / silver color - video & photos (updated with in-studio look)

What do you think of the turning radius that the car shows in the 2nd video of the original post? I think that's pretty wide and I hope that the diver didn't turn in the steering wheel all the way. I hope that a U-Turn over two lanes and one bus bay will be possible.
  6. R2 / R3 rear accessory port may have been removed

That's too bad. My intended use case for the R2 is melting away: First the fold flat seats, now the bike rack - I was hoping that you could carry bikes AND tow a trailer and sleep in the car. But that probably would have been too adventurous - wait a minute, wasn't the R2 advertised as an...
  7. R2 Wish List?

Quoting myself: VW has seen the light, hope Rivian also converts: Volkswagen Bringing Back Physical Buttons, Says Removing Them Was a Mistake
  8. R2 Charge Port Location is Moving to Driver's Side Rear (on Production Model)! - Confirms Rivian VP

When you have stuff in the trunk it is more convenient to drive into the car port forward and unload the trunk. Also, when you have bikes on the rack, reversing is tricky ad the bikes are often in the way of the sensors. Q is whether Rivian prioritizes utility of affordability.
  9. R2 Wish List?

I repeat myself, but it's really nagging on me. Planning the next trip in our Skoda Yeti (from Switzerland to Portugal, 2 weeks +) and what I really would like in my next car are Fold-Flat Front Seats, please!
  10. R2 Wish List?

One can dream, right? Samsung has announced a new type of fast-charging long-range (600+ miles / 1000km) solid state battery that should go into production in 2027 and will first be featured on high-end vehicles. PCMag link. Rivian: Please consider a path towards those batteries in the years...
  11. R2 Wish List?

Please please please absolutely keep the folding front row seats on the production model (including ventilation). Even if they only come on a higher trim level. The folding seats, together with two charge ports (front/back) would make the R2 the perfect sports platform for those who go on...
  12. R2 Wish List?

At least on the higher-trim models offer two charge ports (front and back). Advantages of having an (additional) charge port on the passenger front side: - accessible curb side charging - directly compatible access with Superchargers - easier access to majority of chargers installed - supports...
  13. R2 Wish List?

I would be disappointed if it didn't come with bi-direcional charging.
  14. R2 Wish List?

Hi forum members My wife and I currently drive a Skoda Yeti. Skoda is VW Group's "practical use first" brand, and the Yeti is a small/mid size SUV built on the VW Gulf platform. It's roomy and utilitarian, tows 2.1 tons (4630lbs) and has a boxy "honey, I shrank the Discovery" look. It takes us...
