With most getting a premium or better trim because they want AWD on their rugged "adventure vehicle" and then just adding a spare tire, paying 1.5k destination fee, and state tax, they almost all will find themselves north of 59k or a lease on that basis. Does 59k+ work as a mass market vehicle...
IMO, I think the Standard edition is more to get potential customers looking with the under 50k price tag, but few will want to buy with rear wheel drive. The standard with AWD is just a bad deal setup to get people to move to premium which is the vehicle Rivian truly wants people to buy who...
If Rivian does not charge extra for lidar and upgraded chip, then it's the extras that the launch edition includes vs. lidar and upgraded chip. So the launch edition might be less a "better deal" and more a trade off based on the customers priorities.
7. Pebble is 25 feet which I believe is a cutoff for some camping spaces. The Lightship is over 26 feet long.
8. Lightship has two axels which might make it more difficult to maneuver.
9. Outside Privacy Glass becomes opaque at the touch of a button

Prototypes are easy, manufacturing is difficult, mass production super difficult, and mass producing at a profit excruciating. Tesla and perhaps BYD are the only companies to reach profitability with BEVs. Rivian is at the beginning of transitioning from manufacturing to masss production and...
The jack setup you pictured is the old factory jack setup. They changed the factory jack so the puck is permanently attached to the jack. I'll take a picture and send it to this thread.
On my very first trip from the service center to home I got a screw in the rear passenger tire. Luckily I have the AT package on my R1T with the full size spare and jack. I watched a video on changing a tire an an R1T and went for it. The first difference I noticed was there was no puck but the...
The gear guard cable did not come on my 2nd gen R1T configured with utility panel. A Rivian sales person said they were no longer going to include it unless the vehicle was the ascend trim.
I just picked up my gen2 R1T after reserving 6 years ago! Loving it so far. I actually had a second voucher for an R1S and tried to convince my brother in law to use it, but he passed so that voucher will just expire.
I was supposed to get my gen2 R1T same day as you at the Chelsea SC, but moved my appointment to Friday because my dog got sick and I have to bring him in for an emergency visit to the vet on Thursday. Good luck with your delivery. Post on here to tell us how it goes.
Oh, I might beat you to it then. My Gen 2 R1T delivery is scheduled for the 16th! Beginning to get cold feet though with the autobody nightmares I am reading on this site.
Nice! I like the look of the R1T in silver with darkout and dark wheels. You are probably one of the first people to take delivery of a Gen 2 R1T. What do you think of the quality? Anything need to be corrected in the shop?
One way to hedge your odds in the shop is to continue your patience and accept a non performance version of your dream configuration. You will almost certainly be able to upgrade to performance later but of course sadly probably not be able to apply your 20% discount to that later upgrade when...
