You are correct. My point was a state can be less restrictive (more generous) than the FLSA. At a minimum, overtime is required after 40 hours in a week regardless of what state you are employed in. ☮️
The Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) governs overtime and no state can be more restrictive than the FLSA. With a few exceptions (public safety employees, police and fire specifically) employees receive overtime for any hours in excess of 40 in a week. ☮️
