This is a legal requirement for all EVs and hybrids that can run without the engine.
Ironically, my friend's new ultra-quiet Chevy truck is nearly silent and my EV is vastly louder.
Offline storage of Apple Music, just like you can do on a phone. That's how I listen to media while off grid, on a plane, etc. But I'd like the higher fidelity of the ATMOS files that play directly in the Rivian system.
Not that I know it would solve the problem, but it's well known that A-pillars have become far stronger in the last decade or so. With a negative consequence of becoming a much larger blind spot, and sometimes, people crash because they don't account for that.
Pretty much everyone looks at our Smart car and first thing they ask/claim is whether it's a death trap. No. It's rated very safe. And on top of that, it's just fun to drive. And being able to make a full u-turn in the space of two parking slots is hilarious.
No, I think you can launch a few more totally incorrect personal attacks. My actual IT support people are laughing over my shoulder. I own the company and step in when I think they may be doing what you assume I'm doing. Hilarity.
Nobody ever understands the true cost of "just that one more...
Nope, and I specifically said that I wasn't saying that. I can't tell if you're just ignoring what I said in order to attack me, or unable to comprehend it.
Let me see if I can help you: None of the above means I have an opinion on whether Rivian should or shouldn't remove the radio. I just...
What an incredibly dismissive and useless way to look at it. I think FM radio is an 8-track, *and* I've been frequently accused of being too critical of Rivian and/or being a Tesla fanboy versus Rivian. I have recommended that anyone who doesn't actually need what the R1T offers (I do), should...
And apparently, there's a support burden when they fuck it up like people say they did in R1. Rivian has stats on how many people used the FM receiver. They may just not care about the 5% or whatever.
Hey, don't be a dummy, that one doesn't have AM/FM. Sheesh!
This is for sale on eBay...
My argument was ONLY on the concept quoted. The exact concept that they should " use the simple way that works." Whether they got it wrong or not, is another discussion. But Rivian would have lost at least us as customers if they did the old-think "way that works" like Ford did.
Maybe, but...
There's a 19 page thread about this already.
Short story: The Rivian has two "radio" apps. Both can be ad supported or you can pay for no ads. The ads that the station themselves puts in the stream (if they do, some FM is apparently ad free I've been told) are still there in either case...
They didn't; the code for those is free from the service providers. You know, just like how they could have easily implemented CarPlay. I don't know if most people know this, but the Rivian OS is full of open-source code and integrated libraries from others. It's a smart way to do things in...
