  1. R2 Rally Mode fun on track. Out of Spec: "This Is The Most Fun EV I’ve Driven"

The video was epic @OutofSpecKyle. Good stuff. The timing and release of this fun video is also refreshing after the range test video. Redemption lol.
  2. R2 vs Model Y 70-MPH Highway Range Test (by Out of Spec)

"I meant to say that it isn't as efficient as the Model Y, but if you do 50mph hwy and 10mph in the city, that adds up to 60mph combined, which could give you 330 miles of range.“ 🤦‍♂️ Not a good look for Rivian. Its only saving grace for the R2 is the charging curve. This reminds me a lot of...
  3. R2 Launch Mode demo by Wassym -- 0-60 in 3.45s. Coming to R2 in next OTA update

You have a good point and I totally get it. I'm in a similar boat with my R1S-Tri, wishing it wasn't capped so low. What makes it even more pronounced for me is my daily being a MXP. It does it all, but it's an outlier.
  4. R2 Launch Mode demo by Wassym -- 0-60 in 3.45s. Coming to R2 in next OTA update

I figured as much. It'll still be a fun comparison to watch. The 5N has always occupied a bit of an odd space since it's essentially a high performance bloated hatchback. What I found interesting was that when it first came out, everyone compared it to the Model 3 Performance, when I always...
  5. R2 Launch Mode demo by Wassym -- 0-60 in 3.45s. Coming to R2 in next OTA update

To reinforce your point, for those who aren't into racing or performance cars, 0.8 seconds is actually a huge difference. That's a substantial gap in the performance world. As someone who owns multiple Teslas, I'm really hoping the R2 comes out on top. I think that would generate a lot of buzz...
  6. R2 Launch Mode demo by Wassym -- 0-60 in 3.45s. Coming to R2 in next OTA update

I agree with you. Public roads aren't the place to be doing 100+ mph runs, and if someone wants to explore the absolute limits of a vehicle, a track is where to do it. That said, I don't think it's fair to assume that every mention of racing someone means people are blasting down the road at...
  7. R2 Launch Mode demo by Wassym -- 0-60 in 3.45s. Coming to R2 in next OTA update

I think it's probably a combination of factors rather than just one thing. The "motor max RPM" explanation definitely makes sense and could very well be one of the limiting factors. But I also have a hard time believing Rivian would leave performance on the table if there was a safe way to...
  8. R2 Launch Mode demo by Wassym -- 0-60 in 3.45s. Coming to R2 in next OTA update

😂 Haha, I get where you're coming from. But dusting what used to be fast cars in a family SUV is still priceless. Especially the loud for nothing ones that make a ton of noise only to get walked by something with child seats in the back. The ego popping factor and the look on their faces is just...
  9. R2 Launch Mode demo by Wassym -- 0-60 in 3.45s. Coming to R2 in next OTA update

The new MYPs are pretty quick pulling low 3s. The new 3/Y pull a lot harder than the previous gen as well. These two would be a great head to head race to see. Gen 2 R1s with launch mode does 130MPH. I wonder if they're 16mm like in the Gen2 R1s? (Gen1 had 14mm iirc) I agree. Like pet mode...
  10. Market Reality Check: When do Gen 2 Quads drop to double digits?

Very nice and congrats! I'm really happy to see you land one sub 100k so soon. Never say never right? Windshield tint is a must. I have 50% Nano-Ceramic on mine and it makes all the difference.
  11. Pet Mode for R2 coming in next OTA update 🐾

True. The only other vehicle that comes to mind is the 4Runner. My point was that if Rivian is going to lean into being pet friendly with a unique feature like the power rear glass, it makes the lack of dedicated rear cargo area vents stand out even more. Those two features would have...
  12. Pet Mode for R2 coming in next OTA update 🐾

Here's another food for thought. (Not a complaint, just some additional observation) As much as Rivian highlights the rear roll down window as a great feature for dogs, the bigger concern is something that can't be fixed with a software update, which is the lack of dedicated air vents in the...
  13. Poll: Should Rivian Consider a 3-row R2 model?

True. It could end up like the regular 7 seater Y, which is not practical at all. Like the YL, the R2 would need to be revamped to make it work properly.
  14. R1S Cargo Floor Risers (For Flat Floor) -- my 3D print solution

Thanks OP for this. Happy 4th! Edit: oh wow 12 hours to print one piece? 😃
  15. Poll: Should Rivian Consider a 3-row R2 model?

    Great point.
  16. Poll: Should Rivian Consider a 3-row R2 model?

The Lucid Gravity is a great minivan without sliding doors. It was on our short list. It was a 51/49 situation and the R1S eventually took the cake.
  17. Poll: Should Rivian Consider a 3-row R2 model?

With Tesla expected to launch the Model YL in North America soon (this weekend?), it got me thinking... Even though the YL is a six-seater and the R2 is currently a five-seater, I think they'll compete for many of the same buyers, especially families and those looking for extra interior space...
