Has anyone actually tested the file size on playback from the Apple Music app? I’m led to assume it’s 320 kbps barring further info at this point?
To my ears it sounds the same as the Tidal app despite that allegedly being upward of 24/192khz for some songs but yeah technical confirmation would...
Anyone else with some gremlins from the last update? Atmos tracks sounded awful, none of the surround speakers firing and random artifacts making it through the playback.
Did a soft reset and Atmos seems to be back but now 3D audio is defaulted on for non atmos tracks regardless of which option...
Honestly bizarre how they got so far back there like that, speed must have been a factor. Recovery would not be cheap either but man that truck is messed up.
Thanks a ton for this. You should set up a Buy Me A Coffee—I’d gladly throw you some cash for your time and effort here. Highly appreciate your methodology.
Pretty sure the native Apple Music implementation into the infotainment hasn’t been rolled out yet and is part of the upcoming subscription-based Connect+ subscription suite?
Inb4 “you can’t tell a difference when driving on the freeway” but has anyone seen any info on whether the new AM implementation will offer lossless streaming (to the same alleged extent Tidal does)?
Even just 44.1khz CD-quality would be primo. Made a big difference in my Tesla using Tidal...
Would you mind clarifying how Gen1 is overbuilt? I’ve gotten this sense from being a fairly new owner in addition to some of the commentary here and am hopeful to put a large amount of miles on mine, but curious to hear your/anyone’s perspective. I know they found ways to economize G2 production...
Not that you can hear that difference as you listen to Miles Davis while ripping around down or bombing a trail like I do lol. But the difference between BT vs. native stream vs. downloaded CD-level lossless was noticeable in my Tesla, same would apply here I would think.
Anyone know if AM will stream above 320kbps? Would be cool to get 44.1khz CD-quality lossless at least.
I agree the Tidal integration leaves much to be desired, even with it allegedly being able to stream at up to 192k on the hi-fi tier.
I updated and checked it out. Among other things they added EQ presets to the sound system. Haven’t selected them after fine tuning mine based on info here but interesting to see. Voice, Rock, Hip Hop, etc.
