Thanks @Oyabro ! They just showed up today. Poor UPS guys back was sore after delivering them by himself! Packaging was great. They look almost new. Can’t wait to get these installed!
Well, I obviously mis-understood what you used. :) and yeah, i thought it a little curious you had found PA-CF in yellow ... but didn't think it was unheard of these days. I feel like the more exotic filaments are starting to come in more colors. Though doing some searches, I really only see...
Well, those are definitely layer lines I see, especially on the hook on the right indicating that you're printing them as it's seen here with the hook upright and the bottom of the hook on the bed. That's awesome that you've got strong hooks, but I suspect that's more because you're using PA-CF...
I have also noticed PETG warp pretty easily in a car, though I still mostly print in that just because it’s easier. I recently switched a headliner sunglasses holder to PETG-CF and so far that one has held up without deforming. I’ve been thinking about trying ASA or nylon or something like that...
Looks great. I used this for quite a while ... and then ended up just taking it out and filling the whole spare tire compartment with all kinds of extra stuff. (snow socks, lights, high volume air pump, extra 3d printed parts for folks i meet, gloves, etc...) a bunch of that probably doesn't...
As someone else who has searched for a good color match, thos one looks awesome. I’m just concerned about the material somewhat. That said, I’ve printed most of my stuff for the car in PETG and mostly had good success, but I also keep pet mode on in the car most of the time I’m out, but not...
GOAT Fabrication would be near the top of my list, as I’ve seen them highly recommended by folks I know that push their vehicles to the limits. Also Megawatt. I have RealWheelsEV running boards now and love them, but they don’t seem to do sliders. I do love the look of the Megawatt sliders with...
For things I can't live without ...
running boards (though I'd go full rock sliders next time)
NACS adapter
all of my 3d printed accessories I designed ... to satisfy a need ... notably:
sunglass holders
dead pedal extension
water bottle / cup holders
Got a 3D printer? I'm partial to this bracket I designed ... can fit 2 water bottles behind if you need it, and optionally hold one on the side if you need a 3rd even. The clips/brackets are all removable/configurable.
For those curious about timings ...
1. 29.535 - Christine Sloss - Ferrari SF90 XX Spider
2. 30.252 - Ned Bacon - 1975 Porsche 911 RSR
3. 30.819 - Gardner Nichols - Rivian Gen2 Quad R1T
and the course record was set last year at 21.958s!
Here's Gardner's run if you want to watch it ... the...
I also appreciate your lengthy install video! I watched a good deal of it to get an idea of how difficult it would be and was very impressed by how well you were able to show the process and address various issues. Awesome job. Now if I can convince my wife to go for an interesting color...
We just took a trip around Oregon ... up 101 along the coast to Astoria, across to Hood River, then down through Bend/Klamath Falls, then back down through Mt Shasta and back to Folsom CA... absolutely gorgeous the whole way, but the coastline of Oregon was by far the best (IMO). Highly...
Very well done video, btw. I was curious to see how this compares to my Exped MegaMat Duo I use. I got mine on sale at REI (but probably still more than the Lost Horizon) and before I saw they had an Auto one. I do wish I had the extra armroom, but I also like that mine looks like it packs up...
Or maybe this is why all the photos either don't show them fully installed, or always have people on them so you can't see how poorly they fit. Super disappointing now that I look at the various marketing photos on both the rivian and hest sites... for instance, if you look at this photo...
honestly, those look like you have them installed backwards, front-to-back... i can't believe this is how they were designed. also notice the large gaps in front of the armwrests? i'd think those would be behind the armrests and the mattress would end before the tailgate bumpouts...
