Make sure you go into the privacy settings and turn on Driver Attention Detection feature. Once I did that, it worked.

For those of us in Hawaii, the hands free driving was not installed. I was told by my SA in December that Rivian knows about it and will do update to correct it. So hopefully this fix is part of it.
