Never drove the Gen 2 but the Gen 1 R1S suspension is hot garbage. Had a Gen 1 R1T loaner the other week and it was so much better because of the wheelbase.
Wonder if it's compatible with Gen 1. I'll ask next week at my service appointment. Would be nice to have a faster wireless charging instead of aftermarket taking up a USB port
Just be happy you have the R1T. The Gen 1 R1S suspension is a joke, even on 20's with the short wheelbase. I wish it was longer! I had a Gen 1 R1T loaner way back (with meridian) and it ruined me going back to the R1S with suspension and audio.
But can he windmill dunk? I sat in the R2 and the seats are pretty comfy but not wide enough compared to my R1. Back seat leg room was ridiculous though with how much space there is.
Test drove a Gen 1 R1S in Brooklyn on 22's back in 2023 and quickly changed my config to 20's. I can't believe they would even allow test drives on 22's which felt like absolute crap in city driving.
I'm sure you already know but if that's your major complaint then it would make sense to consider the comma four which would be a drastic improvement over the stock garbage they gave us.
Low in my 2023 R1S is just unacceptable. Even with 20's, it feels like utter crap. If you drive anyone in the lowest setting, they would assume the suspension is broken. R1T can somewhat get around it but definitely not in a Gen1 R1S.
Belt and Road initiative that they are using to steal from poor countries around the world. We stupidly exported technology to them and they've stolen from us ever since. They play the long slow game like an anaconda squeezing but it's pretty obvious where they want to be long-term with...
Tesla charging solved my range anxiety. When I first bought mine in 2023 and had to deal with EA charging, it was super frustrating and made me question my purchase. I quickly got my home charger installed and that helped but didn't enjoy longer trips until we were compatible with Tesla. I'd...
Glad I went with OC on my R1. I could never buy a boring black interior at this point. We'll wait for the Gen 3 to come out with lidar/chip improvements before making a decision. Hopefully they offer a lighter interior and leasing options to sell more.
Especially with the R1T because it hides the crappy suspension that the Gen 1 R1S doesn't. You have reliable Bosch motors and just some crappy cameras and driver+ which isn't the end of the world. To me the R2 is a downgrade from the Gen 1 R1. I have 2x R2 reservations and unlikely to use them...
