The conpact spare tire is not a one time use. You can deflate and it will return to its compacted form for reuse again. There are good vids out there on how to use these.

There will be more 21" tire options by the time you would need to replace them. That's what happened with the R1T when it came out with 21's. The R2 will be in a high demand vehicle pushing manufactures to get some of that market share.
