  3. Wall charger vs. 14-50 plug in.

Certainly a viable option. I’ve been charging with a 6-50 to 14-50 adaptor and it sure seems like a more affordable solution. About seven years ago my wife had a 50 amp 240v, 6-50 outlet installed in the garage to run an electric kiln. The kiln never happened but it sure was nice for my Rivian!

I live in Montana so the distance between cities can be 90+ miles. So I would need to be able to get to a place that repairs tires. It wouldn't be for offroading as I drive mainly on road and on snow in the winter without trailering anything. Dirrivn dirt roads to access river put ins and...

  8. Wall charger vs. 14-50 plug in.

Thanks for the response in respect to the wiring and where we are at in the process. It seems like a no brainier now. Hardwire a wall charger. The charging times comparisons were very helpful.
  9. Wall charger vs. 14-50 plug in.

Thanks for taking the time to go over issues i hadn’t even thought about! One more question. We are building a new house and the electrician already wired the spot where we would put the wall charger in the wall with a 60amp breaker. So at this point it’s either finish it with a hardwired wall...
  10. Wall charger vs. 14-50 plug in.

I know you get faster charger times with a wall charger.. 25 miles/hour vs. 19mph but are there any other reasons to spend the money on a wall charger vs. simply plugging in with the portable connector? I have a ‘25 R1T max pack. And i have a 50 amp with 14-50 outlet.
