  1. Driver seat won’t adjust automatically for Owner setting

Yes it does have my name. The problem is not the profile switch. The problem is that the seat position does not change as a result of the profile switch when the vehicle has been asleep. Unless I toggle it to her name first and then back to mine.
  2. Driver seat won’t adjust automatically for Owner setting

I’ve had this problem many times. And I’m again trying to get them to acknowledge a bug. Seems to be easily reproducible if the vehicle goes to sleep while on my wife’s profile. Then I approach.
  3. From an EV9 to an R1S – My Experience & Opinions

In the short term, isn’t the EV9 dc fast charge experience worse considering lack of uniform 800v superchargers? I expect that to keep changing. But right now maybe not. although maybe they addressed this. https://www.kiaevforums.com/threads/2026-ev9-tesla-supercharger-speeds-increased.14376/
  4. RJ Scaringe interview on Kara Swisher podcast

I liked the interview. In particular it was interesting to me to hear him break down the Chinese EV economics. I’m sure others have done that but first time I’ve heard a cogent simple explanation. as a software person who is tired of hearing about AI I got a little tired of hearing RJ say AI...
  5. Inaccurate nav SOC prediction (wind?) on Clayton, NM to Pueblo, CO stretch

Yeah I think I’ve had similar experiences with the Y on this stretch after they added Clayton but I can’t remember. I would think in both Rivian and Tesla Cases they should be able to factor in wind speeds in the plan and “show their work.” ABRP already does this when I’ve used it.
  6. Inaccurate nav SOC prediction (wind?) on Clayton, NM to Pueblo, CO stretch

Headed from Denver to TX, in the east bound direction, once the projection dropped down to 2% or so, the vehicle added the Des Moines stop, so we stopped there and that was good insurance. On the west bound leg, I added a few percentage points more than called for (70 percent ish) at Clayton...
  7. Rivian's in-car UI is better than Tesla's

Between my 5 year old MY and year old R1S, the glitches on the R1S drag down the better organization for me. Like the other poster I can’t remember the last time I had to reset the Y. The R1S is like my Windows PC from the 90s. Always bugs and restarts.
  8. Software updates that should be here by now.

I still think the software on my gen2 R1S is miles behind my 2020 Model Y for stability. It’s not even close. And lately the Rivian software has been getting worse for me, not better. I really wish the basics would just work and stay working. this morning’s latest fun is I started preheat on...
  9. Ccs port cover missing - happen during recall?

I’m having mobile service do it. No need to take the risk :)
  10. Ccs port cover missing - happen during recall?

Thank you so much for pointing out the fascia can be popped off easily. Indeed I can see the cover in there.
  11. Ccs port cover missing - happen during recall?

2025 R1s here. With the recent head lamp recalls, does anyone know if the ccs port area is removed to make these recall repairs? i can’t prove that it wasn’t gone before going to the SC, but now my ccs port is missing that rectangular cover. I wondered if it could have been snapped off during...
  12. No sound after 2024.51 Update - Gen2 R1S

I’ve had this happen a couple times but not after an update. Support advised me to do a hard reset. Will see if it comes back.
  13. Aftermarket Front License Plate Holder Recommendations?

I went with Quick Bandit on both my Model Y and R1S and I've been happy with the product.
  14. Gen2 Dual Max Impressions from a 2020 Model Y owner

That’s an easy one. Because that’s the other EV we have. So it’s natural to compare. But point taken.
  15. Gen2 Dual Max Impressions from a 2020 Model Y owner

I have noticed that it will backfill the battery after it drains a bit to wsrm The vehicle. It just doesn’t seem to use AC real time.
  16. Gen2 Dual Max Impressions from a 2020 Model Y owner

I have noticed that if I’m preheating the R1S with it plugged in, unlike the MY, it does not seem to use the wall connector for power. Only battery. The contactors on my wall connector don’t close. others have same experience?
  17. Gen2 Dual Max Impressions from a 2020 Model Y owner

Since I wrote this, Rivian recommended I do calibration in the service menu and that seems to have addressed my problem.
  18. Gen2 Dual Max Impressions from a 2020 Model Y owner

I can also echo the sound system complaints. We got the premium audio option in the R1S but I don't think it sounds quite as good as the MY's system. I'm not sure how much of that can be solved with software but one can hope!
  19. Gen2 Dual Max Impressions from a 2020 Model Y owner

Picked up a Dual Max last week in Denver. Good: Build quality seems better Interior is nicer Other than that grill on the dashboard with a minor rattle, things feel quiet and solid inside. Not supporting Elon's latest antics (although maybe it's good to not put RJ on a pedestal either) Mobile...
