  1. Advice needed re first R1T tire replacement coming at 31+K miles - Which size/brand/tire/installer?

I just went on a Rivian Northeast club off Roading event at the anthracite off-road park in Northern Pennsylvania. 20 inch all-terrain tires were recommended, which I have, along with the spare tire, which I didn’t have. I think this is considered pretty serious offloading site, mainly a lot...
  2. HOME CHARGER OPTIONS

Just to close the loop, I had this done today (convert dedicated 20A 120V outlet to 250V). I set the Rivian to charge at 18A. It was a negligible cost and I’m now charging at 3.8kW and 7-8 miles an hour. Both figures 2.5x faster than before. Perfect for my needs, thanks for the recommendation.
  3. Service center updates - Trenton and maybe SE PA

FYI just picked my R1T up yesterday from Malvern SC for service. Service was great, building is huge and very clean, and gave me an Enterprise loaner. Must have 6 or so Rivian chargers there. Super lucky they just opened this 20 minute drive from my house. I booked my appointment early...
  4. HOME CHARGER OPTIONS

I did answer yesterday see thread #8: ā€œThanks for the input and yes, you are correct, I’ve ā€˜fooled’ the OEM Rivian portable charger with an aftermarket connector to the 120v 20A outlet in my garage. I just have to remember to set the Rivian to draw 16A.ā€
  5. HOME CHARGER OPTIONS

Good idea, I’ve been suspecting that I’m getting the Main Line/EV markup. It’s why i had my new roof put on by an Amish contractor from Lancaster area last summer. Pretty sure Amish don’t work as electricians though. Only oddity to that is the Chargepoint online quote was also $3k, and they...
  6. HOME CHARGER OPTIONS

Thanks for the idea, yes, it is a dedicated circuit. The house has a ā€œwhole houseā€ vacuum cleaner system we’ve never used, and the unit is in the garage next to it’s 20A 120V outlet. 7 miles /hour would be perfect, I’m half that now and it’s adequate. I’ll run your idea by our regular...
  7. HOME CHARGER OPTIONS

I hear you but I too like my bourbon at home watching my Eagles while the Riv slowly charges enough to easily cover my 6-mile commute. Just have to plan ahead for back-to-back longer trips I guess.
  8. HOME CHARGER OPTIONS

Thanks for the input, I was surprised as well at the $3k cost to get 50A 240V outlet in the garage. The Rivian recomended firm (QMerit?) also wanted $3k to do a hard wire level 2 charger install, not including charger itself. Both would run the ROMEX line you reference. Apparently it’s...
  9. HOME CHARGER OPTIONS

Thanks for the input and yes, you are correct, I’ve ā€˜fooled’ the OEM Rivian portable charger with an aftermarket connector to the 120v 20A outlet in my garage. I just have to remember to set the Rivian to draw 16A. I originally set it to 20A, and nothing bad happened but my electrician warned...
  10. HOME CHARGER OPTIONS

So you think the hardwired high-speed charger adds a safety factor?
  11. HOME CHARGER OPTIONS

I’m contemplating installing a high-speed charger in my garage, although the roughly $3k cost to have an electricIan run a 50amp line to the garage has me thinking about not doing so. I only have a 6-mile commute to work, and get 1.7 kW (~3.5 miles/hour) out of an existing 20 amp line set to...
  12. Illinois OEM Rivian Manual Tonneau Cover

Just checking if you sold this?
  13. Battery Range Loss (Vampire Drain) in Garage

Yeah, I appear to be at 1% overnight with GG off at night. While on this topic, I see people quoting 280 miles of range on 80% charge. I have the 2023 Large battery and it shows 235 miles at 80% in all-purpose mode and 255 in Conserve mode. Does this sound low?
  14. Battery Range Loss (Vampire Drain) in Garage

no, I don’t need it On at home, although it’s nice to have on at my work parking lot. I’ll see if I can figure out how to turn it off at home per the comment above. Appreciate the camp mode, plus shipping mode that others have mentioned
  15. Battery Range Loss (Vampire Drain) in Garage

Good news is overnight I only went from 35% to 34% VD. Left gear guard on. I really think Rivian did some update to the software yesterday when I complained. I see the sleep icon on my phone a lot more. Nonetheless, appreciate all the advice
  16. Battery Range Loss (Vampire Drain) in Garage

I have to imagine it’s the original 12V battery since it’s less than 18 months old, and I’m checking the threads. I did make Rivian aware of this today, and noticed the sleep icon on the app a lot more since.
  17. Battery Range Loss (Vampire Drain) in Garage

You’ll have to tell me how you get free electricity, solar? Anyway, on my original point, I’m losing 12 miles/day just sitting. That sounds right in cold wweather? are gear guard and proximity sensors a material drain? I could easily turn them off at home
  18. Battery Range Loss (Vampire Drain) in Garage

Thanks Brian, the dealer I bought it from didn’t have 120V adapter for home charging cord, so I haven’t been able to charge at home yet, that is arriving tomorrow. Also couldn’t set charging limit until Rivian transferred ownership to me on Friday, will set to 70% now. so is it better for...
  19. Battery Range Loss (Vampire Drain) in Garage

New 2023 R1T (and EV) owner here, bought it used with 19k miles. I charged to 89% and 260 mile range in All-purpose (? - not conserve or sport or snow) mode 7 days ago, no charging since. All-terrain tires. Drove locally 4 of 7 days, 55 miles total. Sat in garage 3 days. Gear guard and...
  20. Introductions & Welcome Thread šŸ‘‹

Hi all, just bought a used 2023 R1T with 19k miles, 2nd owner. Forest green/Forest Edge, Quad motors, Large battery, all-terrain tires. not sure of other options, would like to figure out way to get original window sticker. First EV, Iā€˜ve been a long time sports car guy but wanted more room...
