Sounds like red unfortunately unless they plan to wait for launch green to go away before offering it. Red already disappeared from the dual R1 options.
I see what you are saying, but as social creatures, the social aspect our society is not going anywhere. It is just moving away from being forced with these interactions that I'm sure a lot of us would just prefer moved along.
For an introvert, what you describe sounds great. Society already...
Lately, this one. Google Maps has me get off the highway to just get back on. Google Maps is not the king of navigation that it used to be. Apple Maps does some janky stuff so I'd say they are about on par now, mostly to Google Maps drop in qualify more than Apple Maps improving.
Don't get me wrong, Rivian software is not perfect. But compared to the POS software in my current BMW, I'll take music pausing over Carplay refusing to launch altogether. That music issue with Apple Music is annoying AF. Made me go back to Spotify lol
For the R1S, since it literally shares a platform with a truck, makes sense. The R2 is its own thing, so it wouldn't necessarily makes sense for it to feel truck like. I do disagree though to the original point of the poster that the R2 drives like a truck.
I actually find the R2 drives much...
Also getting a taxi/uber/lyft in the middle of the night is a nightmare. Don't think Waymo is going to cancel my ride because it doesn't feel like taking me to the Airport. Also not really trying to make small talk with anyone at that time either.
Ford's M.O. at this point. Late to the game, hype up technology that others have used for years, do not improve the product and then let it rot away and move on to the next shiny thing.
I'm not even cautiously optimistic for this thing. Ford just has a way of doing things lately and it's not fun.
The whole text thing is puzzling to me. Do a lot of people out there really need to be answering text IMMEDIATELY all the time? While driving? My phone basically stays untouched and charging the whole time I'm driving.
But yes, software IMO can make or break a vehicle on the day to day...
Mixed feelings on this. One the one hand, these automakers should held accountable for overpromising and underdelivering, specially on the self driving front. On the other, Rivian really shouldn't be bleeding more money at the moment.
While everyone is entitled to their opinion, most of the serious hardships you mentioned and would have to endure could have been easily found by just looking at the info page for the R2.
Doesn't hurt to do some research on a $60k car. This car is not for everyone (clearly) but good thing they...
I feel your pain but we should find out where we stand in line within the next 5 days.
Not like I'm going anywhere else (every time I think of test driving anything else, I get depressed) but a guesstimate is better than nothing.
Watching the reactions to this is hilarious and kind of sad. Just proves people will complain and be unhappy, no matter what is released.
Slate is an answer to ALL of the very loud people who have been complaining endlessly about the complex, screen heavy, overdesigned and expensive vehicles...
All good points!
That niche though? A sub $30k, in theory very low maintenance, smaller truck seems like a great buy for a lot of people. Add all the options and it can cast a wider net. That is not to mention those going to fleets as well. I foresee it doing quite well!
It also seems like...
Same. I will literally never use them.
But do they look cool on the R2? My brain has already decided. "Well, if the Esker Silver is free...so you save on paint...so the cross bars are basically free?"
Good move, Rivian. Good move. Did a great job at making me fool myself.
I went from "not for me" to "wait...this is brilliant!"
Was wondering why this had not been come up with sooner. Really like the modular idea behind it. Build a basic truck, so you can have the factory going and keep cranking them out, but then add the stuff afterwards so people have the...
