Update 6 September 2025
Added "Using Auto Loans as the funding source" to the deck, with a callout to USAA, who others have reported positive experience with (and they seem to have pretty good rates at time of writing)
Rebased the 2026 Dual Motor Standard option, as the endless adventure bonus...
Bingo! You’ve hit the nail on the head. If absolutely nothing else, it makes it very obvious in the checkout workflow where to put a code because the free form field comes up.
if you compare without it, the field isn’t there, and you have to click add for it to come up. It’s not fool proof /...
I literally called it out right in the post, immediately under where the links are, and was quire long winded about it. If you have some suggested edits to that language, Im happy to integrate feedback.
My entire approach for all of this has been to make sure people are a) getting good deals...
Rivian's month-end offer to sweeten deals a bit includes getting a Camp Speaker if you do a demo drive before you order; however, the larger update is that they've moved the Order By dates from August 31 (today!) to September 2 to give a bit more time to take advantage of the Endless Adventure...
yes, I have for other folks. You get a pinch of a discount net cash wise. Basically, if youre alternative is cutting a check to Rivian for the $$ for a quad, you'd save a few bucks going down the 7500 route.
I basically did this for the tri max in december, because they didn't have these...
Glad the sheet was helpful, sorry for the delayed response, didn't see the email notice from this message.
Would you "trade in" or otherwise get rid of the existing R1S? Also, I'm assuming since you have 10 payments, you mean you leased it in July 2024, not 2025, yea?
The stacked federal/OEM...
Don't feel dumb for asking, that's what the community is here for, to help and bounce ideas around
I took this exact config, which I think is same/close to what you pictured:

Then you have...
Ah yes, fair enough. I don't disagree with you. That is a valid use case, of you lease with the //intent// to buyout, and then say "oh I just want to ride the lease" instead. I'm positive that happens for all sorts of reasons.
I think the common ground between what we're both saying is "You...

I already catered for that with "Future value WITH withdrawls to pay the lease"
That gets you compounding interest properly + withdrawls every month.
The simple interest is just a basic "is it dead" test, if that is miserable, there is no need to look further
TLDR, "Future value WITH...
Great! That works too. I edited my previous comment for clarity. When I said buy outright, I meant the end result is "I own it". The path I took to get there was lease for less than 1 month, and then buy the lease
In short, your result and my result are the same, although I was able to capture...
Based on all of the chatter here, I've taken my lunch break to fully refactor the "Calculator" Porition of the spreadsheet.
Here are the highlights for this revision:
Cleaned up "What you see in the Payment Estimator" to be in the exact same order that you see them on the screen, which makes...
TLDR, yes, via the Lease first, then buy that out immediately
For me, I like to fully own at lease one vehicle, and loan/lease another. My wife has a loan on hers, so I was going to buy it straight up anyways. This was just a way to buy it with less cash flowing out the door.
The alternative...
Thanks, and I agree. Everyone's financial situation is different. This approach is very specific for folks who were going to buy it straight out anyway.
In that case, this is straight-up free money, assuming the taxes and such in your locality don't penalize this approach
Now, I 100000% agree...
Thanks for taking the time to step through all of this, I appreciate it. You've hit the nail on the head that if you have a near zero rent charge, then why not take free money in the form of leasing because you are getting that cash float for effectively free.
In that case, I would absolutely...
