This horse has been beaten, and yeah there's a bit of me not wanting to hear the current 50% answer but let me briefly explain why.
R1T has 11k tow capacity, Rivian states 50% range at that load capacity. I'm truly wondering what happens at 6k or 7k, 35% loss, or closer to 50٪‽
A max pack at...
Thanks for response I wasn't aware that the current allotment weren't going to the Average Joe.
That makes sense.
Living here in the middle of nowhere, limited DCFC, and absolutely no pass through chargers (all of them appear to be pull in and park only) pulling our camper looks like a pipe...
Hi all,
We had an R1S preorder earlier in the year but cancelled due to range anxiety after the lack of 400+ range battery was announced. I've been second guessing ever since I made the call.
That being said I'm looking for any real world reports from new customers on towing with their new...
Yeah I saw that. Our problem is we will be towing our camper. We'd been hoping for a max pack in the R1S, that's probably not happening within our purchase time frame. The towing range on the current large R1S pack wouldn't get us anywhere out here in the plains states, charging infrastructure...
Our R1S preorder has been in awhile but not holding my breath on adequate towing range in 2022 after reading comments to the contrary on the big battery won't fit.
As production delays keep on keeping on and features (I've heard AM, Sirius XM, and Android Auto) keep going by the way side, coupled with no big honking battery to tow our camper, we may end up cancelling our R1S for a Tahoe Duromax.
I hope Scaringe is listening we really would like to add...
I can't count how many times we've sat inline waiting for a diesel pump that's being used by gassers when other pumps are open...so if our camper blocks access to a part of the parking lot as we charge at a Rivian or Electrify America station so be it...LOL.
Pull thru charge stalls should be...
Thanks for putting this together but alas the big holes in the center of the country remain.
We'll soon have to decide between accepting our R1S and cancelling for something like a Tahoe which tow our camper without fear of not making it to the next refilling station.
The estimated 150 mile...
I've already pre-ordered a R1S, thinking about doing the same fora Cadillac Lyriq as well. We've already driven the Audi Etrons and VW ID.4.
The Ford Lightning looks like a great vehicle but a truck bed wouldn't get used as often as the rear end of a large SUV.
Minimum cargo width 42 inches, I hope this isn't the case, I'd like the option to lay full 4x8ft pieces of plywood or drywall etc in the back with the seats folded flat.
We've always been abke to utilize
our SUV when making home mods.
After watching a few videos on problems with early MACH-E Electrify America (EA) scenarios we questioned whether the MACH-E was right for her. At the same time our Volt was in for maintenance and we were provided a BOLT-EV as a courtesy car.
We decided to try DCFC at a local EA. Our first...
We have two EVs a 2017 Volt and a 2021 Mach-E. The Volt regen can be engaged via a flappy padel on the steering column or via the brake pedal. Depressing the brake pedal initially engages regen braking only but if you press harder you can engage metallic braking as well.
Putting the Volts...
I'm hoping that black pillars and head liner are an option with the less expensive Explorer package. I doubt we'd ever go offroad, butt fans aren't needed (we have them now in our Cherokee and don't usually use the) about the only option I'd add to an explore package would be black pillars/head...
