I agree. Me and another person were trying to open the frunk for a minute or 2. She thought the emblem on the hood was opening it because the delay took long enough that her touching it coincided with its opening. If I had not opened it earlier and watched a bunch of videos, I may have thought...
I was playing around yesterday. For me the frunk, it was a quick tap, holding didnt seem to open it. There was definitely a bit of a delay, maybe to give people room or something. The back window we had to press firmly onve to get it to go down but you didnt have to hold and going up you did...
I don't think "halo" was chosen due to Christianity. A definition of halo is also "a circle of white or coloured light around the sun, moon, or other luminous body caused by refraction through ice crystals in the atmosphere." Given that Rivian tends to name things after nature.
I don't know why they advertise that rate if they have no intention of giving better. I reached out a while ago to see what my best rate would be and they also gave me that number. I was wondering at the time how perfect do you need to be to get the advertised rate. Good to know the rate...
September deliver now (I also want Borealis) so happy to hear that. As for orders, it is definitely depending on location, configurations people want, R1 ownership, lease ending, and random luck as they said they'll randomly pull some people forward.
I do like that Rivian seems to just let everyone do whatever they want with the car. JerryRiggedEverything took it to the factory and tested puting a carseat in there, EverydayDriver compared cars right off the back, Kyle just sat there messing with the drivetrain and breaks, etc.
Yeah, its mixed. Some say it's good (not great), some are not impressed (like Kyle). They seem to put it above model y standard but below their premium speaker.
Important part missing from your title: "When you can" expect your invite to order. At the very least, they'll let you know your approximate wait even if you can't order immediately. I'm guessing March 2027 for me with Borealis and Coastal delayed.
I have this one as well, but I wanted a Borealis Coastal Cloud combo. You know... before both of those were delayed. At least we'll have a time frame by the end of the month.
I'm just going to say I have a hard time believe the CD of the R2 is the same as the efficiency as the R1. when it's lower to the ground. It is an estimate they used, but still don't think it'll be equal to the R1S.
Some is easier to clean than others. I know out of spec has a detailer who compared cleaning a tesla interior to a Rivian and he said he found Rivian easier to clean. The owner of the Rivian was a farm owner/worker, so he had a lot of dirt and stuff in his Rivian on the seats and interior. So...
If you look at the trade in tool, when you say you want to see the price, it gives them permission to contact you. I also considered doing the trade in comparison and when I saw that, backed out as I didn't want to be contacted.
Dude, not trying to cause conflict. Just really tired of gray and mentioning how they keep saying gray is a best seller when often its just the free or default color.
When he announced it two years ago, he said the 45k would not be the first released. 2025, they said it would be a dual motor variant first and it wouldn't be 45k. They were up front about it from the beginning even 2 years ago. Just no one thought it would take a full year for it to happen.
