I just noticed that there's a ChargePoint entry under Charging Account in the Account section in my Rivian app. I don't recall creating this, and had thought that I had always used the ChargePoint app when charging at ChargePoint (the only charging network that I use that annoyingly doesn't...
Thanks for the experiences. I'm definitely going to do more manual planning, or using a separate app, or a strategy such as you suggest. Hopefully they take the feedback and improve this.
When I had my Tesla, the older Superchargers with the shorter cables also shared power between adjacent chargers, so most Tesla drivers didn't want to park next to another vehicle anyway. As others have said, the locations not in big cities rarely had more than a third of the stalls in use, that...
As I said in my original post (but didn't repeat in my later reply to Dark FX), the nav lets you set the desired SOC at the destination, but that doesn't affect the target SOC at the chargers along the way, as I just verified again. (I set an arrival SOC of 50% just for testing, and the nav had...
Usually, I don't like letting my EV battery get too low, but, as I mentioned, I let the nav pick the second charger, and the nav doesn't seem to give an option for target state of charge at a charger. (At home, I always plug in, and always charge to 100%. The battery rarely gets low at all...
I used the navigation for a trip, specifying the first fast charger because it was cheapest (by a lot), but letting the navigation pick the second. At the first charger, I stayed several minutes beyond "ready to continue trip" for comfort. I drove the speed limit, using adaptive cruise or...
I've noticed RAN sometimes only going up to 150kW, even with no other vehicles charging at the location, and a low SOC. (On at least one other occasion I have gotten over 200kW.) 150kW is suspiciously half the 300kW that the chargers are supposed to be able to do, and I notice that chargers are...
I've been happy with my base model R1S. Adequate range, even in the mountains of Colorado, waaaay more acceleration than I need, even uphill, I prefer LFP for a few reasons (environmental, longevity, increased safety). It'll be interesting to hear Out of Spec's take as they get more experience...
I've pushed locations or directions from a few other apps to my Rivian, so hopefully so. It may be a matter of ABRP being able to "share" locations or routes.
When I bought my Tesla a few years ago, Superchargers were the best and seemingly most numerous fast charging option. Since trading it in for my Rivian earlier this year, there are a lot of other reliable, easy fast charge options, like Rivian's own fast chargers (I used four locations in my...
Model Y (and others): aerodynamic
R2: brick shaped
While people may be drawn to the Rivian shape, the additional time to charge for a given distance of travel will be a negative factor.
My R1S gets half the mileage of the Model 3 that I traded in for it. Although bigger, the brick shape is...
My R1S Dual Standard, leased in late March, has been fine. A few occasional glitches solved by reboot (both outer buttons on steering wheel for 15 seconds), and the phone key works from further away than I'd prefer, but a good vehicle. All the best with your decision.
That's all I'm looking for.
Thanks for your overnight healthcare work. I had to take my Mom to late night healthcare multiple times; always great to get kind competent service.
This isn't a charity; it's a service. In 6.5 years in a volunteer search and rescue unit, all the way up to mission coordinator level, I got up plenty of nights, because that's when the calls come in. I've left my Tesla plugged in all night at multiple hotel destination chargers, and various...
Well, I'm used to Tesla destination chargers where one just leaves it in overnight, as expected. And the town doesn't have fast charging. Ok, another town then.
