I'm fascinated by this every time we have an update. For the record - I never want to be the first to update or even in the first 10%. No matter how much testing is done the real test is installation on actual vehicles in use. I've just started downloading the update and I'm fine with that.
Towing. I don't max the weight or pull long distances but I can put 8000 lbs on my flatbed trailer and you literally cannot feel any drag from the weight. I knew about fast acceleration, etc. but this surprised me.
I'll be paying the $2500 for Autonomy+.
1) I use it on almost every trip longer than an hour and many of the roads (two lane) that I use it on are not mapped.
2) I enjoy being part of the ongoing development of a software defined truck.
3) I don't really care how that other car you own(ed)...
I haven't really changed my usage but I plug in more often. During warm weather I only plugged the truck into my L2 charger when I needed a charge. In cold weather I plug it in every night regardless of the charge level.
Spend some time reading relevant parts of the manual - this vehicle is probably significantly different from anything you have owned.
Pay some attention to the stats. You don't have to obsess (like me?) but you will enjoy the vehicle more if you have some understanding of range and how it is...
Gen2 R1T & Android phone here. Passive unlock works as advertised for me. Turned off at home but one press of the door handle works 95% of the time. Reliably unlocks as I walk up in other locaitons.
Same here. I tow 650 gallons from a fill station that is 11 miles from home. Towing is effortless - easier than my previous 3 Ram pickups (two Hemi's & one diesel). I get approximately the same efficiency both ways - about 1.5 mi/kWh.
It's also amusing how many times I'm asked if "that...
I was just about to click on another gear tunnel tray but I love the clean design of this!
Two questions:
1) It will, in fact, slide out either side after installation?
2) Are the slots on the sides of the tray L-Track compatible?
Absolutely. Only 6 months in and 8,000 miles but I still love driving my R1T.
The only issue that I have had was a failure at a fast charger and that was solved with a vehicle reset.
The only thing I would change is the total reliance on cellular for the entertainment system.
When I custom ordered my R1T in March the website said to expect delivery in 6-8 weeks. The next morning they called and said "how about Thursday?" - of course I was picking up at the factory. My guess is that whatever you order that have one on the lot in Normal. BTW - mine has a February...
This happens to me occasionally. I live in a rural area where cell service can be 'spotty'. Apparently Sirius sometimes loses the connection while sitting in my car port overnight. When this happens it never connects again until I park the truck, then come back and wake it up again.
I'm not trying to minimize the frustration - we all have it when something doesn't work as expected. I have it on a weekly basis with my Sonos. Less frequently but still too often with various home automation devices. And I get that the frustration is amplified when it's a vehicle that leaves...
As the title says - I have the set of floor mats that came in my 2025 R1T. I replaced them with all-weather mats after 3 weeks of ownership and have no use for them. I have them boxed up and estimated that UPS will ship them anywhere in the 48 states for $50 or less.
If you want them send me...
This was happening to me right after I picked up the truck at the factory. I called support and they "reset my connection to the cloud". After that newly recorded video played fine - the old ones still showed errors. I have no idea what the 'connection to the cloud' has to do with that local...
