I'm going to take a ride up to Woodbridge in 10 days or so to at least check them out. Really want to see the Catalina Cove in person as that's what I'm leaning towards.
Huh, I hadn't heard that either. That would be very disappointing. And it doesn't make sense that you can't book a future appointment, I want to book one after next Friday - my son is getting married and things are a little hectic between now and then....
Oh, just noticed this verbiage -...
I'm another Model Y owner who has an R2 reservation (as well as a Slate). My MY is a 2021 LR model with 89k miles, so I suspect that I'll be getting an R2 right around the time it turns over 100k... I want to give it a year or so for some of the bugs to be worked out. I bought my MY after about...
Same.... My wife and I drove an R1S last week - first time driving or riding in a Rivian. Impressed with the quality and range of adjustments, but yeah, way too big. And a bit cumbersome on the road, TBH. Certainly compared to my MY. I'm not expecting the road manners of the MY, which I find to...
Got the email as well. Would love to go and see it - but the time and hassle of getting into NYC to not be able to sit in it..? Don't know if I will. Wish they would do it in Philly.
Don't let perfect be the enemy of good! Why not do a lease on one of those cars while you're awaiting the R2 or R3? You're missing out on the EV experience in the meantime. Lots of good EV lease deals out there now, especially while the federal EV credit is still available.
According to the NYAS website, Rivian isn't going to be there. If they are the R2 probably won't be there as it's already made a pass through NYC, and I think the only real prototype was damaged a few weeks ago.
Bummed that it doesn't appear that Rivian will be at the NYC auto show in a couple weeks. Strange considering they have 2 spaces in NYC and one just north in Westchester County.... Or maybe that is why? Still, I'd like to be able to see the R2 in context with competitors.
Well, Elon is going to continue to Elon for the foreseeable future, so you won't need to rely on people's memory. He will continue to descend. And the other factor is that they spent so much money on the flop Cybertruck, that any major updates to the bread and butter Model 3 and Y are probably...
It won't be ending any time soon, regardless of whether Elon decides to rejoin the company. The damage has been done for most everyone except the fanbois.
I'm really interested in the configs as well. Coming from a Tesla, I'm unused to picking a battery size. In general, I don't want to be humping around a big heavy battery when most of my driving is local, but I do road-trip pretty frequently. I've always said that charger availability, charging...
