I agree I was looking a few weeks ago on home assistant integration and it didn't look great. I was looking for a data recorder to see how things trend on a long term basis. What is your polling rate? Does it sync constantly or is there an option to bulk upload like when the truck connects to...
I was just thinking wouldn't it be nice to be able to self host a collection of data from the Rivian in something like Home Assistant. This looks like its going to be a great project. Wish I drove more over 200miles.
I just hope this causes the AI bubble to pop. Not calling for a recession but adding the spike in oil price to my stack of recession indicators cards. Right now this completes my set.
I have learned the philosophy that there is no free lunch. I take this to mean you don't ever solve issues, you only transfer one issue for another issue. The point of design is to move the those issues to a point that it affects the least amount of people.
Is this raw time or adjusted? going slight up or down hill would change the time. Maybe to get a true time you would need to run up and down the same road and average the two runs. Fun feature that Ill likely will only use a few times
Depending on the shop Id expect $600-800 to powerder coat them. There is a person on offerup in Socal that has the stock 21 in gloss or matte black, for $600 you can echange stock rims for the ones he already has poweder coated. Pretty solid deal considering they will mount and balance the tires...
I love this and have been dreaming about a 12v in many places in the truck. Appreciate you sharing @Curtis Novak unrelated to this thread but are you the genius Curtis Novak guitar pickup wizard?
Im in Southern California so as fair weather as you could likely get. I rarely use the heater and mostly use AC. I drive 3/4 of the miles on the freeway, 1/4 of the miles on the street streets but half the time the freeway is traffic averaging 30-40mph.
Unsungzero brings up a good point, both...
I have rivian 20in rims with Michelin defenders 275/60R20 on a R1t Dual performance and for the last 1500miles I have averaged 2.92 mi/kwh, before I had the 21in with Michelin defenders 275/55R21 and averaged 2.85 mi/kwh
Some notable differences
- The 20in seem to ride smoother
- The 20in...
If I had to guess it seems robots are going to be the whole self driving promise cycle all over again. Waiting to hear Elon will sell us a robot to go to work for us while we sleep, the ultimate infinite money glitch.
If they ever get to true full self driving, we won't be able to own one. I think companies will have a fleet of full self driving vehicles that we rent for some duration. I hope im wrong on this but companies are all moving towards consumers not owning anything. /rant
I think this will be...
For my driving style, Rivian ACC is better when there is traffic, the follow distance is much more natural (and adjustable). Comma Longitudinal control stopped way too far from the car in front of me, the follow distance below 20mph was crazy. From my testing, the Comma wanted to be 100ft from...
Not sure what a test drive is going to do, if your this far down the rabbit hole, where you want to meet up and see how the car responds to a Comma driving, ill admit, you are already there and it's only a matter of time before you get one. It's hands down the best accessory available for the...
I figured if the author wants to be summarized by AI they could have done that and posted a tldr. Its ok if the article is too long, it wasn't intended to be written for a reader such as myself.
I like your enthusiastic about the bike, and your article is good for someone that is seriously considering spending used Honda civic money on a bike. But having an overview or getting to the point quicker would have been beneficial for this reader. I understand why you didn't. Overall looks...
