I’ve noticed that after the latest Rivian software update, the vehicle’s speedometer finally matches up with the comma’s posted speed. I do not have the Lucas harness for what it’s worth.
This has been happening since the update before Google Maps integration, and agree that it’s about the worst thing the software can do when driving on the interstate. Regenerative braking kicks on almost immediately, and it the cars behind me get surprised.
It’s even more annoying that you can...
Lucas undoubtedly deserves it, but I bought the standard harness before digging this deep. I’m happy rolling with that for a while because it’s such an upgrade already.
Because it is widely believed that his/Comma’s version of ACC is superior (as long as you want steering wheel button control). I may try it eventually, but the upgrade of the Comma over only mapped highways has been “good enough” for me thus far. I can’t recommend it enough.
You don’t have to click the Comma device. That’s only if you use the Comma for their vision-based ACC. Otherwise it uses the Rivian’s stock hardware and you still get features like MADS. The steering wheel still works.
I use straight up Comma with no Lucas upgrade, and feel that it’s extremely worth it with Sunnypilot. The Lucas upgrade is strictly for Rivian ACC override, and I don’t feel like I “need” it.
Same. It has been frustrating. In addition, I had a screen full of errors pop up the other day and it required two hard resets to get things back to normal.
I was put into turtle mode, all sensors were dead, and the car said it required service. When I called Rivian, they seemingly had no idea...
The sharpness of the turning basically quadrupled. My mind was completely blown. It's as if I was trying to play basketball in bowling shoes before, and now I have a new pair of Jordan's!
I am brand new to the Comma and OpenPilot in general, but installed on Tuesday. It had been underwhelming for me to use MADS on any road that had a slight curve, and I was considering a return.
Coincidentally, I had an appointment to replace my OEM 21” Pirelli tires this morning and switched to...
