it only really works on a level loose surface, and will tear that surface up along with the tires. In a tank turn all the wheels loose traction, so if there's any slop the vehicle will tend to slide downhill.
Looks cool, but not very practical.
That's a software cutting break, which should be possible… It's also a good way to soft "lock" the differential if you only have a dual-motor setup: applying the brake to the wheel that's spinning will allow power to go to the other wheel. Jeep calls this Brake Lock Differentials
