FWIW I just got my Gen2 R1S back from SC, it was originally like the video but is much better now. Not silent, but overall much quieter and just a less concerning type of sound, more like a hum than the original buzz.
I mentioned it vibrated in the steering wheel and pedal sometimes. They said...
Rivian has said they plan on it (see below), but there hasn't been any word on it for a while. I bought a used Large+ and would be glad to hear some sort of update. Still very happy with it as-is!

Yup. Just mentioned it because it seems like a step backwards. I realize there were some benefits but just seemed like a faster, smoother, and quieter system in limited time I had it.
This is my #1 complaint about my Gen 2. The HVAC noise (and vibration) are crazy. My car is going in next month for 2nd request to fix this but so far they're telling me it's normal. High 60 to low 70 dB at 1-2 ft away. I can easily hear the car in my driveway when inside my house. It's to the...
Thank you, I did try that just in case there was some pressure on it. I even tried removing the whole slider and just doing that bolt. Still same issue.
OK thank you I do have the right bit (TP55 to remove the RIvian bolt, and the correct hex driver for the new bolt). I can't see any issues on the threads (other than a faint bit of shavings, only once).
I think I'm at the point of needing a matching die to recut...I'm very unfamiliar with that...
Yeah I get at least 3-4 turns, maybe halfway in before it goes from an effort of roughly 50 ft-lbs to over 100 ft-lbs. The final torque on the other bolts is 95-100 ft-lbs and this one problem bolt is easily that if not more when it's only halfway inserted.
I did have a tiny bit of shavings on...
I am nearly done installing rock sliders, but one of the bolts just will not screw in properly. Looking for suggestions on how to proceed.
8 bolts being used on the car, 7 of them came out and new hex-head bolts went in with no problem. The one that is giving me trouble was a little more...
I'm installing now and as a heads up to potential buyers, (as they say on the web site) these are truly a minimalist step! Great product, but I wouldn't buy them expecting to use them with a door closed.
Photos are with them pushed as far outward as they can. I added grip tape (Vicious Black...
In case anyone is still wondering about this, I just put my Yakima Skybox 21 on an R1S... it fits but just barely. There's only a cm or two of clearance when the tailgate is open and the cargo box is as far forward as the clamps allow. I couldn't use the forward two crossbar points because the...
Anyone able to say if a ski boot would fit on them? I'm torn between this version and the wider originals. There are no measurements on the site that I can find.
