    Robocalls from Nationwide regarding renewal

I've had Cincinnati for 14 years now, love them. Sadly this prevented me from using Rivian insurance since they have a no-poaching agreement with brokers.

Is charging in Wisconsin as bad as it looks?

Man i was hoping closer to portage. If they can put one around portage my trips to minocqua would be 1 stop instead of 2.

It's April 2nd and I'm still waiting for my NACS adapter email!!!

If they do not follow the exact preorder number for delivery I'm cancelling my truck! It's nice to have another fun topic like this, just like when the initial vehicles were being delivered.

    Chicago Rivian Enthusiasts

Do they actually have parking spots outside the service garage, or did you park in the area that says no parking. That's my biggest issue with the service center. That street is narrow, they have the customer lot chained closed, and no direction where to park for service. Not sure why they...

A "Play by Play Illustrated Commentary" why R2 production would be challenging to retrofit into existing R1 or EDV line

If i recall the factory was supposed to have 3 lines. Easy enough to have 1 van 1 r1 and 1 r2 is it not? Who was saying to mix models on the same line?

CONCERN: RIVN have enough cash to to go beyond 2025 and launch R2?

I do enjoy everyone ignoring the van product and focusing completely on the R1 profitablity. The elimination of the exclusivity at the end of last year should open up the doors to more van production/sales in the future. I think it was a mistake to bump the R1 factory capacity beyond the...

Rivian: Rightfully Discounted For Opportunistic Dollar Cost Averaging (NASDAQ:RIVN)

Bought another 175 shares. Nice to average down the ones I bought at $92 and $76.

Range Loss in Extreme cold temperatures … Great Job, Rivian!

From other posts, there are separate child seat anchors you use, not the seatbelt. Most of the times I've heard of people doing it to avoid the car shifting into park when backing up (because they lift their butt off the seat). Also securing cargo with the seatbelt and leaving it in the car.

Latest on Rivian's move to NACS?

You missed the part of the sentence that is the problem. "Charging to 100%". Certain manufacturers have offered free charging for a period after purchase. So instead of charging at home, many buyers will go to the DCFC and charge to 100% when 100% charge isn't needed. It rudely ties up the...

Why the efficiency graph is way off vs real efficiency.

Typically the efficiency graphs that I see, in the prius for example, are 15 min graph, each data point is an average of the previous minute. Then the number at the bottom is the average over 15 minutes., not the average of averages.

Why the efficiency graph is way off vs real efficiency.

From watching the graph while driving, this is my conclusion as well. Doesn't make any sense really, not sure why they went with it. Not a very useful number.

L2 charging (220v/12A) ...Why is it warming battery for 30 minutes before starting to add miles?

I cold soaked today while away from home, battery was down to 32F when i plugged into the 120v. It looks like the vehicle is using battery power to generate heat using the motors, particularly the front left motor. This leads me to believe that it needs to warm the AC-DC charging electronics...

L2 charging (220v/12A) ...Why is it warming battery for 30 minutes before starting to add miles?

Could be due to the specs of the inverter. In that case you don't really know what temp it is since there is no display for inverter temperature. Do you have dual or quad motors?

Rivian doesn't cost less to drive on long trips

For the road trip I take about 10 times a year, i went from a $60 fill up mid trip for my Ram 1500 to about $20 for the R1T. Add in that I can fill up at the cabin and home for cheap, and it is much less expensive for me. I'm lucky because WI charges by minute not kWh so it is much cheaper to...

Delivery and Purchase; Required to Pay Before Delivery?

Mine was pretty straightforward. Picture of the cashier's check before pickup. Then factory pickup and handed them the check at pickup. I did finance part of the truck through Rivian.

Another thing you can do, about an hour or so before you leave (depending on how you are charging) bump of the charging limit to start charging the vehicle. Having the vehicle charge for an hour should help warm up the battery before going out into the cold. That being said, the heater will...

    Preconditioning - Paying Twice?

To each their own. I take about a 20% efficiency hit when the vehicle starts preconditioning. I've seen it start precondition as far out as 60 miles. 60 miles for me is around ~27kWh, or around ~33kWh with preconditioning enabled. It just isn't worth it in my opinion. I've never had my...

use plugshare to check the status the day before and the day of the trip just to make sure all stations are up and running. I've made the trip from Chicago burbs down to St. Louis. There isn't much in terms of charging in central IL, I did have to wait about 15 min at the Walmart EA station to...
