  1. Got my R2 today! My first day's thoughts.

Tesla uses UWB, but on the app not the wallet (they don’t have a wallet key yet that I know of).. and I think on newer watches.. so it’s always active. This is how it can differentiate between a driver or passenger walking up to the car, and select the one closes to the DRIVERS door as the...
  2. R2 highway efficiency (~3mi/kWh) is better than in the city (~2.5mi/kWh)

It DOES seem like it has to be more behaviour related than actually efficiency related. I guess the motors and electron delivery could just be poorly optimized at activation, but that’s not usually the way things are engineered. At these low speeds, aerodynamics are next to nothing in the...
  3. Rivian financial situation and Volkswagen collaboration

Two things can be true at the same time, ESPECIALLY in the auto industry.. they can be cutting, slashing, re-organizing while at the same time INVESTING in new plants, vehicle, product and business lines.. that’s all part of the plan. Having done more than a couple large European OEM mergers...
  4. Rivian Update 2026.31 - Improvements & Fixes

  5. Rivian App latest version released for iOS and Android (Sep 3)

when I click on the first screen which says “explore trips with R2”, it goes to the next page and it’s plotted the R1s (MAX). And will route, the PREVIEW button the bottom works and calcs the route, stops etc.. but then when I click on the GEAR icon to switch to the R2, you can see I’ve selected...
  6. Rivian App latest version released for iOS and Android (Sep 3)

It will let me plan with any vehicle OTHER than the R2
  7. Rivian App latest version released for iOS and Android (Sep 3)

I still can’t get it to actually plot a route with a selected R2 as the vehiicle,, does anyone else have this issue? I know it says “plot a route with your R2”, but then when one does that, it’s defaulting to an R1S, and then if one changes it with the GEAR icon, to an R2, Performance, etc, it...
  8. USB-C Enclosure Holder (2.5" SATA SSD hard drive) for R2 glove box -- 3D print file

A 90 degree USB-C connection is going to be ideal for this location.
  9. R2 Rear Sunshades now available in Rivian Gear Shop

They look nice, just don’t hit the “5 feature” party button on accident though.
  10. R2 Delivery Problems

Yeah, I love living debt free, but I earn ~ 4x the 4.2% my credit union is going to charge on the loan value, so that makes good sense for capital use... most ppl don’t have this ability and think about money in “risk free” terms, at that point one isn’t going to earn a lot more > 4.7-5.3% risk...
  11. USB-C Enclosure Holder (2.5" SATA SSD hard drive) for R2 glove box -- 3D print file

Just A note.. most enclosures have breathing vent holes and vents. I’d make sure those are facing out, and putting it against the fabric/synthetic material might not be the best idea. These things can get pretty darn hot at times.
  12. Growing efficiency Gap: R2 w/ 21" vs. 20" tire sets

I was given a delivery date about 3 weeks in advance.
  17. Are you using Tesla membership?

I just checked one nearby, it’s .71$ in the rivian app, and .48 for the Tesla rate. Let me see here, carry the one, divide by pi, hmm, soon I’ll get.. give me a sec.. maybe there’s an app on my phone? I know I have an abacus around here somewhere. Was there something I could do with shells maybe?
  18. Tesla home charger cable stuck

Is there not a STOP CHARGING or UNLOCK CHARGE PORT selection in the Rivian app?
  19. R2 Delivery Problems

Yeah, I think it’s a semi subsidized rate via the alumni association..they do this often, employers will as well sometimes.
