I’m a Feb ‘25 reservation with a Sept/Oct order window. I think it has much more to do with location than some might think. I’m in the St Louis, MO area. If they are already delivering a high quantity near you maybe that’s driving some of the quick invitations?

My hope is that Rivian will give us options, and I think that is really only possible with software rather than mechanical horns. They already planned to do so I have heard with the turn signal indicator sound as well and that is very hard to do for the traditional “component-based” car makers...

I honestly think this entire thread is pretty funny. “I LOVE a software defined vehicle like Rivian. But give me an electromagnetic airhorn for god’s sake!” Forums are like every other social media platform. Give people space to complain and argue, and they’ll use it. Just cracks me up. :CWL:

I think it’s fair to assume that while all the R2 launch frenzy has been going on, Rivian has also been trying to figure out how to adapt as much of the wiring harness, software, sourcing and manufacturing process learned from R2 product development to rethink R1 manufacturing entirely. This...

Has anyone gotten any solid experience or data on Toyo Open Country A/T III EV tires compared with OEMs? Marketed as an EV-specific tread pattern and compound for low noise and preserved range and available in the 275/65/R20 size.

My guess - since they made the Lidar/self-driving announcement so late in the game - is that they reach out to all reservations to see who wants to configure and buy now versus those who prefer to hold their reservation to the second release in late 2026. Some of us - who don’t give a rip about...

I am far less worried about eyes-off driving than I am with range, charging speeds, and battery life improvements. Like Ai in general, there is far too much emphasis on this. In other words, they should be focused on a compelling product before worrying about whether or not it drives itself...
