We did the 3 kids with a Model Y for 2 years. Unless your kids are small and get along great, I would recommend springing for the R1S or keep a Model 3 or Y and get a different 3 row SUV or Van. If 80k is your limit, totally worth a different paint color & no ppf imo to get the Rivian.
Ha! Looks like we're twins too except you have the underbody shield. I haven't seen an R1S here at all and only one R1T so far. I'm a bit north of Charlotte though in the Concord / Huntersville area.
Congrats! I just took delivery of a El Cap R1S on Saturday and can convey a similar experience but not entirely issue free.
I was worried there would be panel gaps everywhere, rattling, battery dying on the 2nd day or exploding at charging from all the threads. Thankfully none of those issues...
Inventory seems to move all the time, there was one I was interested in that was on and off within 10 minutes. Others stayed there for my entire time with access to the shop, it's very dynamic and if you see one you like, I'd jump on it.

I'm in NC and recently changed my delivery address to a friend of mine who resides in IL hoping to take delivery at the factory. From my research, in the 8 steps there is a distinct title & registration section where you can put in a different address than your delivery address.

We currently have one ICE vehicle and were hoping to just rely on that till our Rivian came in but due to job changes we need a second vehicle before our Rivian comes in. We ordered a Model Y that should be delivered in July.
