I stopped reading the minute you said Reddit and were not an owner. Reddit sub is full of whiny losers - mostly Tesla owners that don't know shit about cars, likely can't afford the Rivian they bought, or morons with 4 infants that should have bought a minivan - and only care about software...
I bought the rock sliders from evsportsline but don't have them yet (R1S) - I have a great relationship with Detail Doctors in Milwaukee since I spent a grip there (stealth, debadge, chrome delete, ceramic, tint...) and will look to them to install if I get stuck. I have the all the recommended...
I just assume I will need to make a stop with some in the tank - I am not into checking wind, making a bunch of calculations, etc. I just drive and 10K miles in and that seems to work fine. I've been in my garage at 2% before lol.
I'm at 10K and haven't rotated yet. I suppose I should. I have a service appointment in Chicago in a couple of weeks and was hoping to see if they could do it there then.
I am seriously starting to think most people that post here and on Reddit are cursed. I would have never have bought my R1S if I had spent any time here.
I have been driving in 90 plus degree weather for a few weeks and no AC issue thusfar. Fingers crossed. But honestly, I likely will just turn up the radio
I've had my R1S for two months and have put on 3K plus miles. No issues. I find forums here and on Reddit are obviously biased towards issues as that is what gets more attention. I also think there are just a certain type of person that will find an issue in anything they own. It's a car...
I mean what is the "warning" here? That the car loses features without internet connectivity? I mean that seems obvious. Subscriptions are not going away any time soon unfortunately - but I get that mobile networks aren't giving this connectivity away for free so of course Rivian will need to...
But this isn't common. I have a 2021 Honda CRV with LED headlight bought in Wisconsin and there isn't any mitigation. This notion that somehow Rivian "forgot" is absurd considering how few cars have it. There is no perfect vehicle. Anyone can cherry pick any feature from any car line and...
No doubt. With the blue chip auto makers throwing in (although Toyota seems to be slow - maybe working on something just not ready to share) it will be a rapid rise. Battery tech should benefit as well. Charging infrastructure, etc.
Meh I'm going to roll with it. I don't always get consistent gas mileage either and manage to survive. If this is what it will take to simply drive an EV the industry is screwed.
I don't have to graph when to change the oil. Pretty simple. Car tells me. Kind of like this. I assume the car will give me a range and I can make an assumption to stop within a certain mileage before 0. Never thought going from 0 to 100% was the only way to charge. If I save 10 minutes on...
I was planning on just charging based on the timeI wanted to spend at a charger (e.g. outside shopping / food / or just to take a break). Especially initially, I'm not going to leap into long road trips with this thing where time or sense of urgency is a factor.
I just want to drive the thing...
As someone new to EVs myself, I'm wondering why I need to care about this. It seems the EV community is way more into details than I have ever been with any car I have ever owned. Every feature. Every measurement. People act like it's the last car they will ever buy.
