Our Grand Highlander is 70.1" tall, XC90 is 70.2" and I'm 6'2", so R2 roofline did feel low at 66.9".
Already planning on that simple EVS 1.6" lift which would yield ~68.5" tall (lift math can be squishy). Seems lifting more than that would require much more hardware pop & swap which I'm not...
Chatted w/ local Xpel guy about this - he said not to go darker than 50% on a panoramic sunroof. So my plan when the time comes is XR+ 55.
There's all kind of discussion re: warranty implications. At the very least, I'd say if you do sunroof stick to an installer that's provided via the...
Agreed - it wouldn't be a recurring thing - wife gets new car, houseguests, etc. and I swap spots. Or EVSE tech somehow advances so I want a new one, easy to rip & replace, etc.
Also worth noting if you use a wall plug then limited to 50/40, whereas hardwired can provide more output & faster...
I've started sifting through reviews of "best EVSE" to get sense of what to look for when the time comes. Since I have 2x NIMA 14-50 outlets in my garage, I'll want to use them and have the ability to move the EVSE around.
One big instigator of debate is the orientation of the 14-50 wall...
My guess is LE will softly transition to Gen3 in Dec-Jan as MY27.5 and both won't be in production simultaneously. Then flip to MY28 in usual summertime, perhaps to coincide w/ Standard launch.
My alt-guess is flip to MY28 gets moved earlier to winter-spring for hard cutover from LE to Gen3...

If I understand the factory paint shop correctly - max 10 colors in production at a given time - what gets killed off to make room for Borealis? Probably not black, white, silver, HMG, Cove, Lgreen, Fgreen (coming to R2).
That leaves R1 colors Rblue, Sblue, and Canyon Red. My bet is CR goes...
My guess is the announced pricing will hold for MY27.5 and Performance will transition from free stuff to Gen3 at same cost -
That said, I think Standard AWD is due to launch around summer 2027, so flip to MY28 could coincide with that? Maybe price hikes for Premium & Performance at that...
Maybe not. I'd bet tire companies get all kinds of comms from automotive yahoos.
Besides, I'm sure these firms are well aware of R2 and already know what lineups will get 255/60/20 size. And don't want to disclose until launched.
Because we're still in the press release-review stage of media coverage. These people get invited to launch events w/ free travel, lodging, meals, punch and pie. Expectation is high praise or else they don't get invited next time. Competitive reviews to follow will be more grounded and candid.
Yep, charging via NIMA 14-50 will max out slower than hardwired connection.
I've already got two outlets in my garage, so will want to take advantage of that flexibility. Will typically charge overnight. YMMV.
If there's any chance you would move parking spot w/in a garage (with an additional outlet), a plug-in charger (NIMA 14-50) could be moved more easiliy vs. hardwired.
