The R2 will be my first EV.
To me I am not concerned if it's a software issue that gets corrected in a timely manner. The R2 wasn't released with the pet mode but added later. It would be nice if it went through a more rigorous test and was released flawless, but as long as it's a fixable...
His videos are always a good watch, as are a few others that handle odd technology.
As far as the dummies part of your post. I don't understand why Rivian doesn't allow drivers to completely turn off the regeneration. On my test drive I was getting motion sickness because it was so strong. I...
I've swapped horns on previous vehicles, I figured if I didn't like the R2 I couldn't swap it. I don't know why I didn't think about the horn being part of the OS.
Can this be hacked? Could someone change the horn sound and/or the speaker to get the sound, pitch or volume they're looking for?
When my order window opens I plan on searching for the same thing. Another set of wheel/tires that I can switch between when winter comes. I would like a set that maximizes range for summer trips and one that handles winter that might also be of use if we take an off road camping trip.
I've...
I appreciate your effort and video showing what you're seeing.
I am curious about hear sink. At 99° outside your cabin was hot, not just the air but everything in it. As the air cools everything in the vehicle is still radiating heat and until it also cools down the fan and AC should be...
In Idaho commercial trucks can now legally travel 80mph. Mine is governed to 72 mph but I often watch my adaptive cruise control which shows me the vehicle speed in front of me. If you're in my area you'll probably be going 85.
Roads with higher speed limits are common in the mountain West...
How much of a savings is a demo vehicle?
I hadn't thought about this as an option before, though the more I think about the more it make sense. I use a tool brand, festool, that has set prices but are available through the company's reconditioned website and have made a few purchases from it.
When I did my test drive they had a case with color samples. I held them at different angles and lighting to see how they compare. While I didn't look at the grey colors they did shift shades depending on how the light was hitting them.
If you have a Rivian shop on your area it's worth taking...
I was telling my wife a few days ago how much I missed floor vents. I really enjoyed using my foot to open an unfiltered air vent, no fan needed.
I remember riding in my step dad's truck with a foot pump for windshield washer fluid. He would pump water that got sucked into the side window...
Modern more vehicles might have cargo area vents but that hasn't always been the case.
My wife has a scion xb, the one that looks like a toaster, there are no cargo area vents. The back seat doesn't even get that much air flow. We don't have kids are rarely have anyone else ride with us so we...
The ability to turn off regeneration braking.
I felt a little motion sickness on my test drive. I tried reducing the pedal to 15% to allow it to coast but familiarity will take time.
I'm a commercial truck driver and use engine compression, it has three settings plus the ability to turn it...
It's probably for the same reason there are so many gas stations. EV chargers need an initial cost and maintenance but there is money in it if they're in the right location and have the offerings people want.
I feel your pain.
My wife and I have old vehicles that area starting to have some struggles that aren't worth investing more in. I was originally hoping to make it to the R3 window but we're now looking at the R2, order window is between dec-feb I'm hoping we can make it.
We may just end up...
Could this be due to the lease information people entered?
Or location? If I were Rivian I would want to spread out the vehicles around so more eyes see them on the roads.
I placed my reservation a few days ago and already received an email saying I can place my order Dec-Feb with a 4-8 week delivery time afterwards.
I scheduled a test drive this Saturday, I have a service center in my town.
I'm kind of surprised it's moving that quickly. I wonder how many...
Those pictures does make me wonder how it would look in person. The space almost looks lacking empty. Maybe moving the R2 badge to where the V goes, it would also help when you're opening the back.
Having recently joined the waiting list I'll have time to think about it.
That is a good point. I have invested a fair amount in Rivian stock, lol.
Though I remember reading about how many people were running internet searches for an automaker KN when Kia updated their logo.
Thanks, that was what I was looking for. When I first joined this forum I saw the post but forgot it was for the R2.
