New cars still have USB-C commonly. I'll head to a Rivian dealer as a newbie and see if some questions can be answered. This is not critique but curiosity. Many enjoy playing high quality audio outside of streaming (and Bluetooth).

Did I just read correctly that one cannot load a USB with songs and play it in a Rivian? I'm new to the brand and have an R2 reservation.

Choosing a destination at leasure on my AA , walking to my car, and seamlessly connecting and driving off route integrated isn't a terrible thing....

I was just supprised to read most apps require $15 monthly. I did not see the necessity of being "sold" on the monthly subscription. Software price can be built into a $60k+ vehicle without a subscription. Some in the greater world have a philosophical desire to not " subscribe " to everything...

Is this true? To use any apps on the R2 im considering ( and have reservation) I'd need to pay $15 a month ?

I should add. I'm not agaist FSD by any means. I have a round trip 108 mile daily commute and for trafficy parts and boring stretches I'd welcome it. I more wonder on how we make quite expensive ( to me $50-100k purchase is substantive ) on a particular line item. I joke here in physics that...
